Cutler is years ahead of him as an NFL quarterback, and he's been in the league less years than Chris.
No.... in this situation, Simms would be learning from Jay.

I think Chris Simms has a good understanding of the game. He has a VERY good football head on his shoulders. So just becuase Simms can't physically keep up with Jay, doesn't mean Jay can't learn something.
However.... I think Simms is the better backup than what we have.

that's why this argument is over...
Ramsey has more experience than Simms...

Simms: 15 career starts, QB rating of 71.2, 12 TD 17 INT
Ramsey: 24 career starts, QB rating of 74.8, 35 TD 30 INT
Add in experience and it's pretty clear that Ramsey is a better choice.

Yes, Chris Simms is an NFL football player, so he knows what football is about.
But Cutler has just as good of a football head on his shoulders, or even better.
He has to... look where he came from.
Playing on a crap Vandy team, and playing the way he did, you know that Jay knows the game of football. Coaches voted him to be first-team All-SEC. He's bound to know the game of football pretty darn good by playing the way he played on a lowly team.
I'm sure Chris Simms could teach Jay something.... their is always advice to be given.
But Jay is one of those special players who knows the game VERY well... and he's got the athletic ability to go along with that knowledge.

I like Simms, but I'd rather Denver sticks with Ramsey.
It would be tough for any QB to come in and learn Shanny's offense, let alone to do it if God forbid something happens to Cutler, especially early in the season.
Besides, I've read on like two or three sites that Chicago would go hard after him, as well as Minnesota.
-If I were Chris Simms and I wanted the upmost playing time, I'd go to either of those and stay the F out of Denver, who has an extremely young franchise QB already!

if he couldn't get it together in tampa, what makes anyone think he could fit in here?2010 Draft

yea, the offenses are different, but everyone is aware gruden runs a complex system.
not saying they are similar in regards to terminology and such, but as far as complexity goes... i'm sure they are comparable
of course he wanted to be released there were 4 other quater backs that were better than him on that roster, including josh johnson, the rookie out of usd...
so yea, i would want to be released too..

It was his physical tools.. not his mental ones that was Simm's downfall in TB. They aren't elite, and maybe aren't starting material... although they are in Chicago and KC for sure.
But if he came here, he wouldn't be asked to be starting material. I think Simms would be a VERY good back-up
