  • November Mock Draft

What, it's only November? You can never be too early with a mock draft, especially when the team is struggling to beat .500.

This draft makes us bigger and stronger in the defensive front seven, solves our safety problems and gets us a couple of good, versatile tailbacks, a nifty returner-receiver and some big O-linemen.

I'm assuming we keep DJ Williams, let Nate Webster and Karl Paymah go in FA, and move Spencer Larsen permanently to MLB. We add some RFA linebackers and a good tackling free safety for special teams. We get a very solid CB to replace Paymah, and we get two experienced, versatile RBs who are a step up from anything we have at the position now.

Oh, and we get a backup QB who might be able to win if Cutler gets injured.

I believe we have two 5th-round picks and two 7th-round picks.

    1. Myron Rolle, SS, Florida State
    2. B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College
    3. Shonn Greene, RB, Iowa
    4. Ray Feinga, OG, BYU
    5. Nate Ness, FS, Arizona
    5. Joe Burnett, CB, UCF
    6. Antonio Dixon, DT, Miami
    7. Dallas Reynolds, C, BYU
    7. Chase Daniel, QB, Missouri

    RFAs:
    Marlon Lucky, RB, Nebraska
    Mike Rivera, OLB, Kansas
    Dan Lawlor, FB, Penn State
    Sammy Stroughter, WR, Oregon
Derrick Richardson, FS, New Mexico State
    James Holt, LB, Kansas

    DEPTH CHART:

    Defense
RDE - Ebenezer Ekuban, John Engleberger
LDE - Elvis Dumervil, Tim Crowder
NT - B.J. Raji, Antonio Dixon
DT - Marcus Thomas, Kenny Peterson
WLB - D.J. Williams, Jamie Winborn
MLB - Spencer Larsen, Niko Koutouvides
SLB - Wesley Woodyard, Mike Rivera (R)
    3-4 lb - Jarvis Moss
LCB - Champ Bailey, Joe Burnett (R)
RCB - Dre Bly, Jack Williams
SS - Myron Rolle (R), Marquand Manuel

LT - Ryan Clady, Eric Pears
LG - Ben Hamilton, Ray Feinga (R)
    C - Casey Weigman, Dallas Reynolds (R)
RG - Chris Kuper, Kory Lichtensteiger
RT - Ryan Harris, (Eric Pears)
Slot - Brandon Stokley, Anthony Alridge

Looks pretty good, you missed Dewayne Robertson in your depth chart though.

First of all, Nate Ness is an awful pick. Kid probably wont get drafted. I say if your going to go for a late round FS you should look for someone like CJ Spillman from marshall or David Bruton from Notre Dame. Both of these guys are much better.

Ray Feinga is more of a pass blocking guard. Not to say he's a bad pick, but I think we'll look at more mauler type guards like Kraig Urbik from Wisconsin who is an excellent run blocker. Not a bad pick, just dont think he fits the scheme as well.

Dont really like the Antonio Dixon pick, but the rest of the draft seems pretty decent.

I would love to get Myron Rolle and Shonn Greene. But the way Greene has been running this year, I do not think he will be available in the 3rd. I don't think we need a FB in rookie FA. We would not keep 3 QBs. Daniel would most likely be a PS guy. Other than that I agree.

Don't know how far he will fall, maybe to the 5th round but my pick for mid round safety is Otis Wiley. I think he has the skills to be a star in the NFL. He can tackle and is one of the best in coverage in the whole draft.

I am pulling for Raji in the draft too, Even if Larsen does become the starting MLB we will need to add more in the draft this year. Clint Sintim is my #1 choice, #2 is Scott Mckillop who has some resemblances to Larsen, a little slow but a smart player who is always around the ball.

              Questions

              1. What happened to DeWayne Robertson?
              2. Where is Josh Barrett?
              3. Why do you have Engleberger on this team for next year, or Manuel for that matter?
              4. Who is Nate Ness?
