  • Barrett Getting A Long Look

Josh Barrett has been playing alot today, including special teams, and he has made some plays.

Boy, he sure passes the eyeball test. He made a couple of plays where he showed you he can really run...

I tell you, pair him with a vet for another year, and I don't think you really need a SS type, because I think Josh Barrett is going to be it.

The Broncos will still need a FS, but I think Barrett looks good athleticaly, and the thing that impresses me ost is that he appears to be a good form tackler, and he does know how to lay the wood, and can defintiley be physical.

I like the kid, and I see no reason to draft another SS type high.

    FS on the other hand...

    Sean Jones

Maybe Sean Jones from the Browns is a possibility at FS next year. Then, they can bump Hamza to the starting job. Other than that, I don't know of any other vets at FS to bring in at this point that are worth it.

Barrett does look the part no doubt. I hope once McCree is healthy that he's paired with Barrett. Manuel does absolutely nothing for me and seems to get lucky on many occassions throughout a game. He's just plain scarry to watch!

I was happy to see the ST's tackle Barrett made this week that he missed last week as well. He took a much better angle and was rewarded. His athletic ability is undeniable and I much prefer his athletic upside and inexperience over Manuel.

He showed alot of the traits he was known for at Arizona St., he jumps off the screen at times and can dominate games.

As he gets more comfortable he should be the guy we are looking for at SS, then if we can sign a Sean Jones or draft a good FS in the 1st or 2nd rounds, we will be set at Safety for years to come.

I liked what I saw, he has been known to be inconsistent though, so we'll see!

Barrett could have been playing behind Manuel all season, but he was sent to the practice squad for whatever reason. Now they need him, and he hasn't played all year. Makes a lot of sense.

a lot of stuff this year hasnt made sense. we brought him up out of necessity, when our safetys were playing as bad as they possibly could. now that hes up, hes not playing too bad. especially for being in the first game.
