  • Devery Henderson??

anyone up for signing henderson next year if he hits the market?i think that he would be a great pickup at a reasonable price and would give us a real deap threat coupled with cutlers cannon arm which could free up space for b-marsh and royal.what do you guys think??

Nope. I think the only WR worth a darn on that team is Colston. Henderson and Moore are products of the system I'd bet. They're the Deion Branch and David Givens of the Saints. When Henderson goes somewhere else, he will underperform just like they did.

Honestly, I think we should stay home grown with WRs. We haven't picked up a good FA WR since Easy Ed McCaffrey. I'm interested to see how the former first round pick Chad Jackson turns out for us. The guy is athletically gifted and if we can make him "Bronco-ized" by hanging around with Casino Royal and Beast Marshall, I think he'll be the perfect replacement for Stokely when he hangs 'em up.

I never wanted to draft Jackson and was one of the guys poo pooing on those that did. But now that we got him for nothing, I think we should develop him into the weapon that many thought he could be.

Brandon Stokley sure has been a big pickup for us!

I agree though, we have great depth at WR and if we want to add another we should do so with a late round draft pick. I don't know why but just seeing that one, single play by Chad Jackson has made me a lot higher on him than I was a couple days ago. Completely irrational but that's how it goes...

True, Stokely has done good things, but he's best used a spot player. He's really not a starter and still battles nagging injuries every year. He's not the same guy he was in Indy. He's a solid vet on the downside of his career. Sooner rather than later, I think we're going to need to groom his replacement.

I agree. Chad Jackson could be the replacement. We will have to see what he does next year, given an entire training camp and preseason in our system.

The far-fetched scenario is Jackson lives up to his draft status and becomes the starting Z, and Royal moves to the slot...but that would be a waste of his talent I think. Let's just say that if Jackson became starter-quality, with Marshall, Royal, and Jackson, it would be a good problem to have!
