Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Not that we don't need personnel upgrades on defense, but I feel that Slowik is a big part of the problem with his poor scheming and maladjustments. Most of the time he plays prevent D with the corners lining 10 yards off their man and mostly relying on our piss poor front four to apply pressure, which they rarely do. When he does occasionally grow a pair and blitz, he stops doing it for some reason and goes back to prevent D (see the Bills game, wherein we blitzed frequently in the 1st quarter and Buffalo couldn't get anything going, then we sat back and played prevent the rest of the game).
I believe a better DC is needed to take full advantage of whatever talent we may add in the offseason. Better talent will help, but the defense will never reach its full potential with Slowik's cookie-cutter schemes.

By far Slowik, he's holding the team back, as long he stays the Broncos will never be like the Orange Crush from the Seventies.

If u understand Defense, u can clearly see it is mostly Slowik. His "Scheme" (If u wanna call it one) plays WAAAY too softly, u never see CB's break on balls cause they are 10 yds off the WR all the time, our safeties play waaay too deep, we're too easy for offenses to pull big gains on. We have some real talented athletes: Champ/Boss/DJ/Dumervil/Woodyard but this scheme makes them play DOWN to a 7th grade bend-but-don't-break level, they never get to make plays!
Slowik HAS to go, I say we get Haynesworth and a DECENT, proven Def-coord. We did pretty well under Coyer (He had his own issues) Jim Bates and even Ray Rhodes was good, but with a name like Slowik....ugh, it's all on him.
It is definately all of the above. Shanahan deserves blame because he hired slowik and he brought in the players on defense. Slowik deserves blame for playing way too much soft zone and not blitzing enough when it was working as in the buffalo game as mentioned before. why in the hell would you just stop blitzing in the 2nd quarter when the other team cant even get a first down and the give up thirtysomething points and never go back to it? But in slowiks defense how many nfl defenses could lose all 3 linebackers their number 1 cb and 1 or 2 of their starting safeties, all at pretty much the same time and still field a competetive defense. And then there are the players who just dont seem to have the fire or intensity with the exception of a few whom were mostly rookies or young players.
