hey guys, im new here. and i was just wondering why wouldnt the broncos go after sproles. we already have a big back in hillis so sproles could be a nice change of pace back for us. and help us on special teams. also, the chargers wouldnt have him anymore. and this kid isnt no ordinary back he can tear it up i mean imagine him and hillis together in the backfield. can you say ''smash & dash''. now i know we have similar running backs to him like alridge, but i mean sproles could really be a home run. and i know we have alot of running backs like torain but you know i just thought this would be a good idea. money could be a factor to but we can promise him more playing time than he got with the chargers to make up for the money. people say ''oh you cant evaluate him on how he does against us'' well he dosent just tear us up he does it to a number of teams. look at what turner did when he left sproles could do the same. foxsports.com said they expect sproles to leave sandiego as a free agent so he''ll be out there. i heard people talk about b-jacobs. but lets be realistic that wont happen. and derrick ward but hes a power back with speed but hillis can give us that. sproles could give us pure speed. he is a bit small but he can run between the tackles and uses his size to his advantage....he likes contact. so whatta you think???

Why always a change of pace back? Look at Denver's wins this year. They did very well when they pounded the ball. Denver's offense would be unbelievable if they had 2 bruisers to count on to run the ball the whole game for 16 games. If you were on defense would you rather try and tackle the 200 lb back who you can bring down with an arm tackle or a 235 lb back who will break your arm if you tried an arm tackle? Smash mouth Football with a flair for the dramatic with a Gunslinger QB.

This is nothing new...I suggested Sproles weeks ago, and have been familiar with him since he owned Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game several years ago.
The guy is just a special talent, and I would target him as a primary addition in free agency.

He is under-utilized with the Chargers, and forget that he is 5'6"...Joe Morris was 5'7" with the NY Giants and was a power runner when they beat us in the Super Bowl, and Sproles is the same type of back. He is no soft speed back like an Anthony Alridge. The kid is tough as nails, has devastating breakway speed and is a legit game changer.
I would target him as the primary free agent this offseason, not only for what he can do for us, but also what we would take away from San Diego.
Some guys are special (Wes Welker), regardless of their size, and Darren Sproles is that kind of player.
Sign him.

I totally agree, the dude has TALENT.
Sadly, I think there is no way in hell San Diego lets this dude go. With LT looking a bit sketchy (Save for against us), I can see him being groomed to replace him. With a nice bruiser back, SD is set up to have one of the most dynamic running game for years. Not to mention, the dude is a threat in punts and kickoffs every time he touches the ball.
Second, I don't think that he would come to Denver. Personally, I don't see if he does leave he goes to us and sticks it to San Diego twice a year. Unless he has some sort of deep hidden hatred for LT and RiversJust a diehard Broncos Fan trying to make it living in Charger/Raider country (SoCal)

i agree we should kick his tires... it's like Wes Welker in NE... the main reason they picked him up was because they couldnt game plan vs. him... if DS heads ro a NCF team i say we let him and find a burner in the draft... if it looks like he's going back to SD i would go after him a bit harder

During the season the players worry about teammates. After the season the business kicks in and they are generally out for themselves.

thats a good point but sproles is elite in the open field. the kid is a playmaker. im sure you think now ''oh he wont be hard to stop hes 200lbs. and can be tackled easily'' but sproles dosent go down easy as we broncos fans know. and it is hard to even get one arm on the guy.... he is so quick. he is a cant miss talent.
