Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.
--Broncos Country Message Board Staff
Inspired by the annual draft pickem game, I thought it might be fun to try and guess who the new coaching staff/GM will be. As a bonus tiebreaker, where will Mike Shanahan end up?
My guesses:
GM - Jim Goodman
HC - Bob Stoops
OC - Jeremy Bates/Rick Dennison
DC - Brent Venables
ST - Scott Obrien
Shanny - Takes over as GM and HC of the Cleveland Browns

OK, I'll play to.
Just to let you know, I HIGHLY disagree on your Shanahan idea. Extremely bad move if that were to happen. Would alienate the fanbase that is already alienated enough.
Denver
GM - Pioli
HC - Ferentz
OC - Martz
DC - Jim Ryan (Broncos current Linebackers coach)
ST - O'Brien
Shanahan, sits at home collecting the money owed to him by Broncos organization and continues to try to get his money from Al Davis.
HC- Hate the idea of a college coach, I like the idea of a Pat's coach coming in because of the possibility of him bringing great asst. coaches with him, My first choice is Spagnolo and a second choice only because I think it help our chances of getting Big Albert is Jim Schwartz
DC- Ron Rivera, I would love Mike Nolan to come in but i think thats a outside shot, Romeo is my second and is also not likely
OC-My money is on Bates
ST- Any one is a upgrade... Wished O'Brian would have lived up to the hype.. Keith Burns? A young guy with lots of energy is my only req...
PS>>> just throwning this out there... Bill Parcells? GM/Coach?
HC: Steve Spagnolo
DC: Sean McDermott (worked in Philly together, similar philosophy)
Assistant HC (Offence): Jeremy Bates
OC: Rick Dennison
This is what I hope happens too, a defensive minded Coach that will let the offense run itself. Don't fix whats not broken, and get rid of the abomination that is our defensive mindset.
Dream Scenario:
GM Scott Pioli-The ideal choice, built the Pats team and is highly coveted around the league as a guy who can transform a team, a real "football" guy
HC Mcdaniels-I don't think we need a defensive minded HC anyone who thinks "the offense can run itself" is a fool Shanny ran that offense and incorporated a scheme that worked. Mcdaniels could come in and keep that up.
OC Bates-Bates is a great choice as OC because he's already familiar with Shanny's offense and knows how to get the most out of the weapons at his disposal. Great to keep Jay happy and developing
DC Crennel-A great Defensive coach who could really help us with our problems not to mention he's probably familiar with about 90% of our defensive player
Likely Scenario
GM Jim Goodman-Not mad at this pick as our GM because it's my understanding that he was largely responsible for our picks last year. Bowlen said he wasn't thinking about the GM right now and unfortunately I believe him.
HC Mcdaniel-I think he is not only the best choice but the likely choice however I may just be fooling myself because this is the guy I think is the best choice. Spagnuola's a possibility and I wouldn't be mad at it but I still prefer a offensive coach. Cowher's possible but unlikely and I think I'll kill myself if we get Stoops.
OC Jeremy Bats-once again best choice and likely choice. Shanny's gone and Jays pissed let's not make it worse
DC Mike Nolan-I know I know it doesn't look likely now but give it some time Nolan's phone won't be ringing off the hook at I think he could help our D tremendously. Rivera's a possible but unlikely option

John Elway had a good time screwing the Raiders when he played, now that he's retired, it's the Raiderette's turn.
Elway returns in some capacity, if not GM directly, and the HC will be
Jim Fassel.
Elway is a big fan of his, and stated on many occasions that he loved playing for him, and Fassel would be a benefit to Cutler as well.
Fassel is also tight with Bowlen.
Fassel has had some success as a HC in the NFL, taking the Giants to a Super Bowl.
It would also allow the Broncos to retain the current coaches on offense.
Now, don't flame me because this is not MY choice (I prefer Brian Billick), just my guess as to how it will play out. Bowlen likes to think he has a Broncos 'tradtion', as was the case when he (re)hired Shanahan, and Jim Fassel is part of the Broncos legacy as well.

When all the fire Shanahan threads began, I actually mentioned Fassel as a possible replacement...but I kind of dismissed it after they died down again! Good call MF, seriously! Because Bowlen is a simple man, great businessman but simple overall. He has continued to hire within the ranks that he knows, so this is a big possibility and Fassel and Elway are tight. Hmmm...if it did happen I think the staff would look similar to this:
Front Office:
Kevin Abrims (New York) - President of Football Operations / Staff and Player Personnel
Jim Goodman (Denver) - General Manager / Player Personnel
Head Coach / Assisstant Head Coach / Coordinators:
Jim Fassel (Baltimore) - Head Coach
Rick Dennison (Denver) - Assistant Head Coach / Offensive Line
Mike Shula (Jacksonville) - Offensive Coordinator
Mike Waufle (New York) - Defensive Coordinator
Offensive Position Coaches:
Jeremy Bates (Denver) - Quarterbacks Coach
Bobby Turner (Denver) - Running Backs Coach
Jedd Fisch (Denver) - Wide Receivers Coach
Robert Prince (Jacksonville) - Tight Ends / Assistant Wide Receivers Coach
Joe Baker (Denver) - Offensive Line / Offensive Assistant Coach
Defensive Position Coaches:
Andre Curtis (New York Giants) - Defensive Line Coach
Tom Quinn (New York Giants) - Linebackers Coach
Ronnie Bradford (Denver) - Safeties / Defensive Assistant Coach
