  • 2007 Picks that would have changed our D

With the 17th pick in the 2007 Draft had the Broncos selected JON BEASON 278 tackles 4 picks (2 SEASONS) for Carolina, instead of Jarvis Moss. We would have a franchise MLB, wouldn't have wasted money on Moss, Koutivides, Webster, etc.....

With the 56th pick we draft SABBY PISCETELLI 48 tackles 1ff 1 int - 2008 for TB instead of Crowder, we would have our game changing Safety.

Yeah and if my I choose 01-22-29-44-52, Mega Ball: 39 on my megaball lottery ticket i'd have 37 million dollars.

There's no point in looking at what we could of got when it's already gone.

I wanted Reggie Nelson and still do... I am still ticked about that. I thought we were trading up to grab him and was thinking why is jags trading with us they need a safety...

These are examples of our failures drafting defensive players. I really liked Beason and Piscitelli coming out of college. Fortunately they have gotten the offensive picks right.

not only that...but we could have drafted marion barber or brandon jacobs instead of maurice clarrett...or we could have pulled the trigger on the deal wth baltimore to trade up and take ed reed...or could have drafted greg jennings instead of trading for walker....or drafted marquis colston instead of domenik hixon.....we could do this all day...its pointless to do this...just makes you feel sick

what if we drafted Chris Horton in the 7th round this year, instead of Josh Barrett... Horton was selected #249 while Barrett went #220.

I wanted Barrett... This is how the draft goes... Hits and misses.

Beason has been great. Too bad. BUT, DJ was our MLB in 2007... just as good as Beason.

I'm pretty sure everyone who watched at least one Florida game knew Jarvis Moss would be a bust of hilarious proportions.

We all know it's easy to rethink and improve the 2007 Draft nowadays. But nothing changes the fact that Jarvis Moss was an awful pick, there were much better players avaiable.

Unless that one Florida game happened to be the NC game.

What makes the Jarvis Moss pick so frustrating was that we traded a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick to move up a few slots and draft him when we didn't need to.

And remember, at the time, Jim Bates had hand-picked Moss to play his Elephant position, which is similar to a 3-4 OLB. And then.....we canned Bates' scheme 5 games into the season because our players were too dumb to pick it up.

                        Agreed. Good post.

Most scouts had Moss pegged between 17-25 in the draft. We traded a third round pick to move up four slots to get him. Ahead or four other teams that would not have taken him. I didn't have any problems with the player but I think you have a good point on the price we paid by moving up. We either could have had him at 21 or taken someone else.

I can't believe anyone saw the NC game and thought he would be a bust. He absolutately dominated that game. There were many other signs that he might be a problem (size, position, other game history) but not the NC game.

hoe can you not believe that . . . he wasnt touched half the game

i hardly consider that "dominant" i cant believe anyone watched it and actually thought he should be a first rounder

....and that, my friends, is one of the reasons Shanny is no longer with us.
