It's Pointless To Be Thinking About Draft and FA

hate to say it, but it doesnt make any sense to speculate who we will draft/sign until we know who the new coach/gm is and what system they will run...i know that wont stop any of you...its just too logical...lol

because its a logical thought.... considering we have no clue what system we'll run next year it is even more impossible to try and guess who we draft/sign

It's not pointless but it's certainly contingent upon who the next HC & DC are. And, moreover, the scheme might change, which would certainly have an impact on the type of player we would be looking for. But also, our timeline for rebuilding is lengthened and it's more likely that a whole scale rebuilding of the defense will be embraced, which changes our plans for who we might draft and why -- somewhat.

I think it gives us one more level of complexity and uncertainty, which is -- logically speaking -- actually an excuse to speculate even more!! Now that we're even less limited, I'd like to hear some really crazy ideas for who we can draft/acquire in FA (that's if you haven't been doing that already, and it's hard to tell in some cases).

An even more interesting idea is who will be traded due to not fitting into the scheme such as Dumervil who some love as a pass rusher but may not fit a new plan. Then there are the players who might turn into stars in a new scheme such as Thomas or Moss who have been fairly invisible so far but might begin to flourish.

den615 get off the drafts trades and free agency board if you think its pointless. its not pointless to everyone. just about anything you talk about on these boards is pointless cuz it doesnt change anything. if this is what interests people let them talk. we arent telling you what to talk about
