  • New mock(and I think it'll surprise you)

Well, since there seem to be more and more people campaigning for a RB in the 1st, I decided to do worst case scenario and see what we could do. Before the draft I'll do one FA move.

Chris Canty, DE A solid guy with 3-4 experience. We might pick up a safety but I honestly have no idea which way we'll go where that's concerned.

First off, I only see this happening if 3 things occur: 1. We trade Champ for a 1st 2. Raji, Brown, Orakpo, etc. are gone 3. We can only trade down for a loss

1a.) Knowshon moreno, RB I personally like McCoy, but I like Moreno just as much(McCoy would be available later). Moreno would be a great guy to team with hillis for our own Smash and Dash. We at least should be able to outscore anyone we play while our defense is in shambles.

1b.) Larry English, OLB A guy that could be a steal, he has good pass-rushing skills and appears to be able to play the run and cover. Mayock once said he could be the next Demarcus Ware!(a little endorsement there) I think with a good combine he solidifies himself in the 1st, but he already deserves consideration here.

2.) Ron Brace, NT We need a good NT to be effective and Brace has plenty of potential. At around 330, he shouldn't have trouble picking up double-teams. Alternate: Louis Delmas, S If Brace is gone and/or Delmas is still available we might pull the trigger. Delmas has shown to be effective both against the run and pass.

3.) Sherrod Martin, FS A ball-hawk that would help our awful pass defense. Martin should be able to come in and contibute. Alternate: Dorell Scott, NT If we take Delmas I think we target Scott in the 3rd.

4.) Mark Parson, CB I've seen him projected in a lot of places, but I think he could fall due to him playing at a small school. He could develop into a solid corner.

5a.) Mitch King, DE My late-round sleeper. Basically a 3-4 John Engleberger in my opinion. Good backup that might develop into an OK starter with a high motor.

5b.) Patrick Turner, WR A big receiver at around 6-6 and over 200 lbs(can't remember exactly but I think 207), I think Turner will cause matchup problems for smaller nickel CBs.

6a.) Sammie Lee Hill, NT A small-school prospect with good athleticism for a 330 lb guy, he could be a good clogger. Also, I think him and Brace would dominate in a 4-3 package and on the goalline at stopping the run.

6b.) Tyrone greene, OG A guy that could end up being a starter but provides solid depth.

7th round.) BPA Like I've said, somebody's bound to fall and I want us to get him. I don't care who.

OK, please PLEASE do not say we won't go RB in the 1st and grade this draft as an F. This is worst case scenario that nobody else has good value at 12 so we take one. I think under the circumstances we might do alright, and we at least ought to be able to just plain outscore anybody.:salute!: (love the new smileys)

    new smileys rock!

your draft is pretty good, i think you try to cover the weaknesses of the defense pretty good. I would not be mad if it turned out this way.

    Good job

Thanks! I think we can still have a good draft if we have to get a RB in the 1st, but it's not the way I want us to go. I do find the idea intriguing though. We would have a better offense than say, the Arizona Cardinals(hint hint), while trying to get an average defense. Or we can try to completely revamp the defense. The only pick I'm a little unsure of is Mark Parsons, IDK where he'll go.

Doubt we could get a 1st for champ.
Maybe if we bundled him Dumervile and Winborn to some team needing a starting CB and pure pass rusher and undersized LB

I disagree, but I wouldn't mind a small package. Champ and Winborn would be fine with me.

Think of any teams needing a #1 corner (Champ) and a pass-rusher (Doom)?

But as for the mock. I have to say very nice

I am not a fan of taking RB in the first. But the way the rest of the draft goes I could not complain.
English and Delmas are my 2 favorite players in this draft.

            Say if we got Moreno.
Then English with the other 1st.
            Delmas in the 2nd.
And trade that 3rd to Arizona for Gabe Watson.

^^That would be my perfect mock

Perhaps the Saints? The browns but the only way we get that pick is if they're targeting Malcom Jenkins. I don't see that happening anyway. The Jags might bite but they may decide to just wait on harvey, depends on how desperate they are. The Patriots might be a possibility. I think the Saints would go for it because they need defensive help and if they get it they have a shot at contending. Last year they made some big moves and they might again. Those are the only teams off the top of my head.
