    Personally, i say hell no

    but here you go

    http://www.draftcountdown.com/scouti...dt/BJ-Raji.php
    Height: 6-1 | Weight: 323 | 40-Time: 5.15
B.J. Raji | Boston College Eagles
    Official Bio

    Strengths:
Outstanding mass and bulk...Excellent strength...Stout at the point of attack...Can fill two gaps...Able to occupy multiple blockers...Tough, powerful and nasty...A beast against the run...Can really collapse the pocket...Able to penetrate and make plays in the backfield...Above average athleticism...Quick and agile...Pursues well and has a burst to close...Good instincts and awareness...Will offer schematic versatility.

    Weaknesses:
Conditioning and stamina have been problems...Is shorter than you'd prefer...Maturity and commitment have been questioned...Doesn't always play with proper leverage...Inconsistent and his motor tends to run hot and cold...Is not an elite pass rusher...Struggled to keep up with his studies and intelligence may be an issue..Durability concerns?

    Notes:
First name is "Busari"...Father migrated from Nigeria...A three-year starter in the ACC...Named 1st Team All-ACC in 2008...Sat out the 2007 season for being academically ineligible and redshirted...Was ejected from a game in 2006 for throwing a punch...Missed spring ball in 2008 after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery...Weighed more than 350 pounds at one point but is most effective at 325-330...Potential 3-4 nose tackle but could also fit in a 4-3 scheme...Has the physical tools to be great but intangibles could hold him back and prevent him from maximizing his potential...Had an amazing senior season and showed what a truly dominant force he can be when in shape and motivated.

If he's available, hell yeah. He'll be well coached by Nunnely and become a beast at NT. Do you think Jay Ratliff was already an unstoppable force when the Cowboys drafted him in the 7th round? Imagine what Raji can do.

I think he will picked by San Francisco or Green Bay before he gets to us. But if he is there we have to get him. You can't have a good 3-4 without a beast of a nosetackle and BJ would be a steal at #12 IMO.

He is a beast, I don't see how people can argue against him.

He has produced and doesn't have any issues that would come with him unlike some of the other RD 1 picks people have been tossing around here.

He isn't a 3-4 nose tackle. He wasn't even the nose on the 4-3 defense he played on. So I say no thanks. Of course it's all moot. He won't be available anyway.

BJ RAJI = Albert Haynesworth Jr.

He is a force at DT and had like 7 SACKS.

Almost same build as Jamaal Williams NT San Diego.

We must draft him if available.

Haynesworth isn't a 3-4 NT, he's a penetrating 4-3 DT. To liken Raji to him only points out that we shouldn't draft Raji.

Where have you heard that you Raji couldn't play NT? He has the size and strength to do it.

Look around. Many scouting reports claim he has issues playing too high and not being able to anchor at the point of attack. Just because he has the size doesn't make him a NT. And that's not to say he wouldn't be an upgrade over anything we have right now for the position, it's just that we would be drafting a player for talents (penetration) we wouldn't generally even use. The senior bowl was what settled it for me. He was getting pushed back regularly in that game by guys who will most likely be backups in the NFL (at least next season). That is not the sign of a good 3-4 NT.

I think because Haynesworth is not a 3-4 nose, and to comapre the two, would mean Raji is not a nose.

I think Ben Tate will be the best back taken in the 2010 draft. (5/3/10)

You mean, the best centers to come out of college in years?

"Boston College's B.J. Raji, a product of Westwood Regional High School, was the most dominant defensive lineman in the country in 2008, despite facing constant double teams. He added to his reputation with a strong week at the Senior Bowl.

At 6-foot-2 and 334 pounds, Raji is big, strong and nearly impossible to move off the ball, but he also has a great burst that is uncommon for a player his size. That combination of skills will allow him to line up in any scheme, with the size to play nose guard in a 3-4 defense and the burst to penetrate as a 4-3 defensive tackle." - Pat Kirwan

                          how about this one?
Thickly built. Can show bursts of quickness off the line. Naturally strong and can anchor. Can flatten down the line of scrimmage. Playing with a fury early in 2008 after being forced to miss the entire 2007 season through no fault of his own. Could be the best pure 3-4 NT prospect in the country. Brings a load, and moves it all very well. Pushes the double team block backwards, earns holding calls, active tackler for a defensive linemen, who plays with a LB mentality. Has trimmed down some this season and looks even quicker. Stamina is fine. Stuffs the run blocker, and must be accounted for on every play. Demands constant double-teaming.

                          or this one
02/10/09 - PRO POTENTIAL: DTs B.J. Raji and Ron Brace -- The hefty pair should be clogging up the middle of a couple of NFL defensive fronts for years to come. Raji will be the higher of the two drafted, projected as high as the fourth pick in the first round. Did someone say "Vince Wilfork?"
01/25/09 - It remains to be seen if Boston College defensive tackle B.J. Raji has played himself into the NFL Draft's top 10. But he has already made an NFL coaching staff adjust. After the South's 35-18 victory over his North in the Under Armour Senior Bowl, Raji thought he did OK on a night Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio's staff went after him. "Usually in a game they don't try to down block or pull around until you make a couple of plays," Raji said. "They did it right out of the gate. I got some respect from the Jacksonville staff. They had a good scheme today." He said the Bengals coaches countered by telling him to loosen up and "play more on the guard since the guard was coming around, and try to reach him. They widened up my alignment a little bit and I made a couple of plays." Maybe they'll be working with him a lot more. At 6-1, 334 pounds, he had a huge week here during practice and he may now have to be considered in the mix at the Bengals No. 6 spot in the first round along with two other guys that were on the field Saturday night and have already been projected in the top 10 by the gurus: Mississippi left tackle Michael Oher and USC middle linebacker Rey Maualuga. - Geoff Hobson, Bengals.com
01/25/09 - Senior Bowl Defensive standouts: DT B.J. Raji (6-2, 334), Boston College: No player in Mobile garnered as much buzz as Raji, who often was unblockable in one-on-one practice drills against top center talent such as Cal’s Alex Mack and Oregon’s Max Unger. Raji is a stout player who can disrupt the line of scrimmage against the run and push the pocket against the pass. Scouts know that Raji is no one-week wonder, as he has four years of film to back up his superb Senior Bowl showing. - Nick Scurfield, HoustonTexans.com
