I know this is off topic, but wow. He said it over a computer because this is an online messageboard.

I'd call you whatever I wanted to call you to your face. You and any other Marine. I served my country too, and the worst thing about a stunning majority of people in the military (marines especially) is that they think they can run around treating people who aren't marines (or not in the military for those non-marines) like second-class citizens, and then wonder why they get zero respect.

Thank you for being a Marine and draggin your ass across the front lines, by the way. As a former 19D, we probably spilled the same blood in the same mud, depending on how old you are.

    • Very cool Colt McCoy pic. I would love to see him in a Bronco Uniform next year.

it's funny that you bring this up, I guess i'll get off topic for a little bit here. I spent 6 years as a Marine reserve Alpha Co. 4th Marines as a Tanker, I did my time overseas in support of OEF. But unlike you and the other guy I don't flaunt my prior service, people come here to talk about "Football" not to hear whos D*** is bigger. I find "Jarhead" an endearing term( that is why I used it). So don't post your cute little "boy scout patches" and pump your chest about being a Marine and kicking A**, it's punks like you that give the American servicemen and women a bad name. I did my time and I am proud, but I don't need to flaunt my service to feel good about myself. I'm sure your DI told you the old saying "Boot camp teaches you just enough to get your a** kicked" please learn this lesson because nobody gives a crap of what you or I did okay.

Trust me I know this all too well, but I like to think he's the minority here. I served with a lot of great HUMBLE guys. But unfortunetly it's these morons that get noticed most. And I thank you for your service.

            • Guys, Thanks for your service to our country. My son got back from Iraq in December, with the Army, 3rd ID. He doesn't like to talk much about it. He saw action. I'm just proud of him. We owe all of you a great debt of honor and gratitude.

Now for football, Maualuga worries me for a pick at #12. #18, fine. I think they can find better talent at #12 to draft. This pick is to critical to mess up.

We are used to the way Shananhan drafted in the past. It will be totally different with McDaniels.

3 of the most courageous, humble, honorable men I've ever known were Marines, and I am related to two of those three. Thanks for being a Marine, so others didn't have to. (That may not convey well through typing, but it means alot to me.)

He probably is the minority, I hated to lash out, but I can't stand servicemen that beat their chest and think that the people they swore to defend are pissants because they don't wear the uniform.

Your son needs lots of love and patience, and I'm almost 100% positive you are giving him both in large amounts.

Who do you think we could grab at 12? Hopefully Raji will be there. I have heard rumors that if Sanchez is available we'll snag him.

                  3/5 Marines here. 0311 Rifleman.

As for the names: "Jarhead" or "Grunt", I prefer it when people call us (Marines) "God's misguided children". Hah!

                  • OK all you Rey Rey fans. Why in the heck would you want this guy for our Defense he is a 2 down run stuffer in a 3-4 and DOES NOT FIT THE 4-3 THAT WE WILL BE RUNNING.

Unless Rey Rey falls to the second for us I would not want him PERIOD. I think he is worth the risk in the Second but i pass on him in the second.

Or we could select Brandon Spikes or Mclain next year. :

                        Are you kidding me???

He isn't a 2 down run stuffer and is the best 3-4 SILB in the entire draft; which we are transitioning to btw.... Obviously you don't know what you are talking about.

You do realize that we may never see a third down anyway without a good SILB and stopping the run was what hindered our defense the most last year.

Your opinion is he’s not a 3 down player and I couldn’t disagree more. Rey is known for his ability to blitz from the ILB position. In fact, I would argue that he’s the best blitzing LB in this draft. So imagine if you have a passing situation on 3rd down and long. Why would he be on the bench when at the very least he could blitz the QB forcing a quick pass to the hot read and enabling the defensive backs to make the quick stop and force the punt.

                        or maybe...

Maualuga didn’t play 3rd down on tape BECAUSE USC HAD 3 OTHER LBs WHO WILL BE DRAFTED IN THE FIRST 40 PICKS OR SO....Immense talent around him, so they didn't call his number as often as they should have...

                        Just some things to ponder.

Really, any man of that size is going to be a little stiff in the hips, but he impressed the scouts that had doubts at the Senior Bowl practices and I think he will continue to get better with more experience.

P.S. If we don't get Maualuga this year, then I would be happy with Spikes next year.

                        • I am Officially jumping back on the Rey Maualuga Bandwagon.

I will admit that I got a little cold on him and was probably wrong about him. Listening to Mark Schereff on ESPN , he said Denver needs Maualuga Hard Hitting to replace the once great AL WILSON(he was a Warrior).

So I am now thinking that unless BJ Raji falls to us at 12 that Denver should draft Rey Maualuga at 12.

My reasoning is I think that DJ Williams can still play OLB.

So here is our LB's with Maualuga

                          Elvis Dumervil-----Rey Maualuga----Andra Davis-----DJ Williams

I would be very happy with that.

Hopefully Dumervil can make the transition to OLB.

                          • DJ is an OLB. What has made anyone think that DJ Williams can play ILB? By that I mean stop the run.

                            • Agreed we need starters. However, I have a feeling that Seattle is not going to pick Sanchez, and we will have a decision to make whether to trade up or not. I think if the decision is made to trade up, that we should try to trade up from both 1st round picks to get the players we want. Rey will not be around at 18.

                              • I am official back on the Draft Rey Maualuga bandwagon. I admit that I went cold on him but after listening to Mark Schereff on ESPN. He said Maualuga would bring back the Hard Hitting Style that Al (our defense went down hill once he got hurt) Wilson had.
