  • Broncos to go after Bartell and McFadden in FA

    Here's some good news...

The Broncos will reportedly target CBs Ronald Bartell and Bryant McFadden once free agency begins on February 27.

Denver has no one opposite Champ Bailey. The top CBs available, Bartell and McFadden are both 27, offer size, and tackle well (both have backgrounds at safety). They'll likely be seeking six-year deals worth at least $30M.

That is good news. I would rather have either one of them than either Leigh Bodden or Chris McAlister. McAlister is past his prime and Bodden just sucks.

Nobody is as good as Champ was at 27 Nobody that plays corner not even Asomouga and he is prolly the best out there right now. Champ was putting up double digit ints at that age

They are both very established players, Bartell's more of a ballhawk but still very solid in coverage, and McFadden is known for some big hits and being very aggressive against the run. I think I might rather have Bartell at this point in time simply because McFadden might have really succeeded as a result of having that stellar front 7, whereas Bartell basically had no one in the Front 7.

Unlkely! However we do need to pick up someone in free agency! Appearantly we have quitee a bit of cap space!
                  Haze gray and underway!

That was a great loss, and it still hurts seeing his potential end that way; but it hurt's more just knowing he's no longer with us!

they are not going to be like Champ when he was 27, but they will be better than Bly

                      I'll take Ron Bartell

The Most Underrated Free Agent of 2009 - Ron Bartell

If I were to poll 20 people and ask if they knew who Ron Bartell was, I bet only four or five would answer in the affirmative. It really is a shame that good players who are stuck on bad teams go unnoticed...

No offense and with all do respect, But Darrent wasn't any good till he died. Just potential and a great attitude on the feild.

Makes you wonder, does'nt it? McFadden was pretty good coming out of FSU, and fits perfectly into Pitt's scheme. I'd go with Bartell in accordance with your logic....
