Ideally Detroit will try and trade out of the no. 1 pick...but of course no one will want to trade up for it. Personally I think they should see what they've got in Drew Stanton, and take either Curry or a top LT. If Stanton bombs, then they can go with a QB next year.
Tell that to Miami. They even play in an arguably tougher conference.

The new Detroit HC (Schwartz) is not going to be thinking about a top 5 pick next year. He may not be thinking SB, although most coaches do every year, but he will want them to get up to .500 at least.

He won't sit there in the draft room and think 'we'll we are bound to pick top 5 next year so I will leave the QB position until then'

Detroit has a chance at Stafford and if they get ANYONE else then they must be mad.
That's why there is no such thing as NFL or draft 'experts'...it's all just unfounded opinion.

...and who are they referring to anyway?

Who says Bradford or McCoy are any better than Stafford?

I sure as hell don't. I like what I have seen out of the Georgia QB, and I am sure he will go #1 overall.

I agree that stafford shoud be the pick. Anybody that thinks next years qb class is stronger is crazy. Mccoy, Tebow, Bradford all all works in projects. None of them play in a pro style offense. They all line up in the shoutgun Spread and sit there and wing it. Totally different game when you have to drop back and throw it after lining up under center. Think Alex Smith and the struggles he had adjusting

Stafford's highly overrated, IMHO, and aside from his questionable accuracy and decision making, he doesn't play as a leader on the field.

Sanchez is going to be a stud, and I fear the Chiefs getting that guy.

Yeah, what Detroit needs is Bill Parcells. He would turn that team around in one offseason.
