So, don't insult our intelligence
I think the chances of filling all of our needs in FA will be nearly impossible
Moreno while being a good RB is arguably not the BPA when you consider who were passing up on to pick him according to this mock draft
Denver will be hard-pressed to come up at #12 and see: Malcolm Jenkins, Vontae Davis, Brian Cushing, James Laurinaitis, and Rey Maualuga sitting there, and decide they'd better go with a RB
FA is a quick fix-up most of the time unless we're getting some young stud for the long run. The problem with Denver is not building a good defense thru the draft.
On Maualuga: Even if I thought ILB was a big need, I would not spend a #12 pick on a guy that I can not even see work out.
On James Laurinaitis: He worked out fine and I agree he could still be the pick, but I think that would put him in competition with DJ's spot and we would have two ILB that prefer to chase than take blockers head on.
Already discussed Cushing, we could very well take him, but there are red flags.

Granted it wasn't his decision but from everything I read he is a great learner.
Moreno is not a threat every time he touches the ball. He does not have the breakaway speed of a Portis, AP, or even a Felix Jones. He is just not that fast. He does have a great sense for running the ball. But don't make him out to be something he is not. Had he run a 4.3 at the combine things would have been different. As he stands now I think he is definately the top back but I am not sure any of you guys are going to be happy what that means this year.
Wells is an injury disaster. If he is always playing hurt then it is because he is always hurt and we should run away quickly. But I think you are missing the obvious. He gets dinged... yeah even chipped... and can't go in the biggest game. Warrior??? I think not... I would say China Doll.
You are wrong on just about every single thing you said.
I'm guessing you are talking about Maroney? He has been in the league for 3 years now and his first two years were very, very productive. This past years he was injured for 99% of it. Just go back and look up his data.
Do you watch college football? I do...lots of it. Moreno IS a threat to go the distance anytime he touches the ball...this is the problem I have with the combine. The guy runs a 4.5 40 and all of the sudden he can't run fast, even though he proved at the highest level in college he could play football with the best of them.
Have you ever played football? The reason I ask is because if you've ever played, you would know that every player plays hurt. It's not a video game were you can turn off the injuries and turn off fatique.
I live in Columbus, OH and have friends that are close to the OSU program. The one "big" game he didn't play in, he was held out of...coaches decision.
If you go ahead and look at the game logs from the last two years and sight OSU's biggest games, Chris Wells is flat out dominant.
He's hardly a "china doll."[IMG]

Vision is the most important asset a RB can have. I would rather have a 4.7 guy (TD) hitting the right hole or cutback lane, than a 4.3 guy (Bell) running into the back of a guard.
What impressed me most about Moreno wasn't the 40 time, but the fact that it looked like he could run that fast for 60 yards or more. Most 40s are about a great 10 yards...Moreno just cruises through the 40 and keeps going. That is where TD was great...he was just as fast past 30 yards as he was in the first 30 and he pulled away from people.

Jerry Rice ran a 4.6 at that stupid combine. He did ok I think?
Moreno and Wells can play football. I've seen it first hand...literally. I've seen 235 lbs of Chris Wells jump over defenders. I've seen Moreno run past just about every defense in the SEC. If you know anything about college football, you know that the SEC is loaded with the fastest players top to bottom in the country.[IMG]
