While Ray Lewis' skill set is most definetly diminishing, his leadership on this D that lacks pride would be a huge asset. Unfortunately, that leadership comes with a huge price tag. We're also in the running for Bart Scott, but he's supposedly on his way to meet with the Jets, so I don't see him leaving there without signing (Rex Ryan ties etc.). If they don't want to pay Ray the big money contract for a pretty average player with great leadership skills, Jasper Brinkley (the Draft) is another BIG LB that can play the run, and is gradually working himself into a 3-down ILB again after his knee injury, and he's known for being a natural leader (went to Georgia Military College before transferring to South Carolina). He could very easily become the general (no pun intended, okay sort of), and he could be had in the 3rd round. Either way, with all three of these guys, they would def. bring something different, but something needed, to this D.sigpic

Ray is starting to show his age, they broke down some film last night on NFL Live that was eye opening. The things Ray use to excell in- getting off blocks, chasing down the ballcarrier, and locking down the middle have definitely deminished. He's 34, and reportedly wants $10 million a season? That's a lot of money for half the player he used to be! I WILL NOT discount his leadership and motivational ability and what it brings to a team but- not for that kind of jack....

I would be STUNNED if they signed Lewis........he wants big money and we cant tie up some of our cap on a 34 year old Linebacker on the decline.
