FIELDS RECEIVES PAIR OF OFFERS

49ers defensive lineman Ronald Fields has offers on the table from the Rams and Broncos, a league source tells Mike Florio.

Fields is expected to visit Denver this weekend or Monday.

A fifth-round draft pick in 2005, Fields spent last season as a backup on San Francisco’s defensive line.

Shame that the rams are after him as well might make him a little more expensive but would provide instant depth at NT.

We had to have figured we would have brought him in atleast to look at him.

I dont know about a starter, but i am underwhelmed at who the broncos are looking at so far

I think Fields is going to be our guy. I would really like to see us add Grady Jackson as well just to solidify the NT position. We could then draft Sammie Lee Hill as a project player since we have Fields and Jackson who can rotate in and out. Fields compares very much to Ron Brace. Same build, same bull-rush mentality, but Fields has experience in the NFL and as a NT in a 3-4, which Brace does not.
