Sweet, I like peterson, he was one of the most productive Dlinemen last year. He should make a good DE.

Just read this also, good news indeed, he will compete for the starting LDE spot I believe.

I love what McDaniels and the "X" man are doing this off-season!

You can have enough "high motor" guys. I think he may actually win that spot at LDE...call him a late bloomer.

          R Ayers - B Cofield - A Haynesworth - CJ ohnson
          J Anderson - J Beason - DJ Williams
          R Bailey - P Amukamara - R Hill - A Goodman

I agree, not sure if it will be right or left but right now my money is on Peterson and Thomas to be the starting DEs

Look at our potential 3-4 DEs:

              Marcus Thomas 6'3 305
              Kenny Peterson 6'3 300
              Carlton Powell 6'3 300
              Ryan McBean 6'5 290
              Darrell Reid 6'2 288
              Nic Clemons 6'6 300

Do you guys think we still should consider a player like Tyson Jackson at #12? Maybe an ILB or OLB would make more sense, unless Raji is available.

Great question - we should definitely look DT / LB.

I don't really have a good feel for whether or not they see Larsen as a legit ILB start or simply backup / support.

I've long been on record of saying that 3-4 DEs generally do not go in the Top 20 selections, let alone #12, due to the fact it's not an impact position in a 3-4 defense. While I don't really view our DE position to be settled or manned by excellent players, if we could tap one more guy, maybe Vonnie Holiday or Kevin Carter for a year or two, we'll be relatively well off with all the competition and depth.

I still think the best draft value if we stay at #12 will be a secondary prospect, such as Malcolm Jenkins, Vontae Davis, or Sean Smith. I think the best player available might be Knowshon Moreno, but it does not appear we'll be going the RB route. The only other options I see are Everette Brown, Brian Cushing, or a reach for Larry English or Tyson Jackson.

I compledtely agree - Moreno MIGHT be the BPA but IMHO DB would be the best option for the team

I assume that 3-4 DEs are run stuffers that allow the LBs to have fun. They won't go through a drastic change at all, at least half of these guys might get the job done.

None of those guys have proven a thing, let alone that they can play 3-4 DE. Tyson Jackson is very draftable to us, don't be surprised if he's the pick.
