First off, I do not think Cutler or Marshall will get traded. I also have a trade in this draft, but I believe it's realistic and has a real shot at happening. I'm projecting that Brown, Orakpo, and Raji will be gone, but Andre Smith will be available. We trade down with the Eagles for their 1st(#21), 2nd, and 4th; and the Eagles get Smith. We take:
1.) Larry English, OLB A great pass-rush specialist that fills arguably our biggest need. English could also play DE in the 4-3 if we needed. Alternates: Robert Ayers, OLB; Clay Matthews, OLB
2a.) Ziggy Hood, DE/DT I think he'll be a very good 3-4 DE in the pros. He might enup being a good pass-rushing DE as well with that spin of his. Alternate: Fili Moala, DE/DT I'd rather have Hood, but he migt be gone.
2b.) Jasper Brinkley, ILB I may have had him in every mock I've done, and he's steadily climbed the charts. I think he'll end up being a great player in the pros.
3.) Chris Baker, NT The more I've heard of him, the more I like. Really tore it up at Hampton. He could be a steal here and should do well in a rotation. Alternate: Michael Hamlin, S If Baker isn't available Hamlin's a good option.
4a.) Chip Vaughn, S Decent Safety that could develop into a solid starter. Probably would be Dawkin's backup.
4b.) Javon Ringer, RB A patient runner with excellent hands and good vision. Should do well in the spread.
5a.) AQ Shipley, C Good depth and could develop into our starting Center in a year or two.
5b.) Patrick Turner, WR I actually wanted an OLB, but I couldn't think of any options better than Turner. Turner has good size and hands to be a decent backup.
6.) Jeremy Navarre, DE Run-stopping DE. Depth pick.
7a and b.) Whoever has a surprise fall
Let me know what you think.
