  • Brad Jones from CU

I think the Broncos should take a look at him as late round/undrafted free agent. Jones had a very solid pro day. One scout clocked his 40 at 4.54 which would have been the fastest 40 time for Linebackers at the combine. He can play outside linebacker and he can put his hand down and be a pass rusher.

What do you think? (some videos of him are below)

My first thought is, you probably have a CU-bias.

Secondly, nobody here is going to support drafting a 235 lb OLB for a 3-4 defense. And we already have a guy like that in Wesley Woodyard, who is a proven beast.

That doesnt mean anything...besides it looks like he has the frame to add 10lbs.

I dont know enough about him, but if he goes undrafted why not give him a shot?

His stock is rising. I think he could contribute on special teams as well.

looked fast and agressive. tackled high but that can be fixed. will need some work reading plays. will get stronger in the nfl. would def compete at rolb, seems to have more lateral quickness than dumervil and more willing to get his hands dirty than moss, also had more moves than the bull-rush, unlike moss. he is def worth a look.

I am sure people are looking at Jones from CU. If he has potiential the Broncos staff will notice him.
I personally think that Moss is going to surprise people at OLB if given an honest chance. Biggest bias he and others are facing is that he is a Shannihan man and not a McDaniels selection. Coaches seem to dismiss their previous coach's choices because they want their men to have success. I doubt if many of "Shanny's men" get much of a chance. I think that is already apparent.

I think Moss will have a good season this year, it is going to be hard though if we draft a few OLB. He still has a lot to learn.

If the Broncos draft a college DE and try to convert him to a 3-4 linebacker, wouldn't he have as much to learn as Moss?
                      Makes sense to me?

YES!! Brad Jones was a solid pass rushing DE and a good LB, I think he would be great as a OLB in the 3-4...

I do have a CU bias, but I think he would be a great late round pick...

It depends who they draft, but if they do draft a DE/OLB then yes your right. But if they get a natural 3-4 OLB then Moss is going to fall behind.

The Broncos are thin at Cover/SLB = Boss and Green. I'm hoping they draft Jason Williams/Western Illinois in the 5th round to back-up Boss and pick up a CFA like Jones for depth.
