  • Drafting a RB in the first round

I am against it, but if the Broncos were to draft a RB, i would go with either Chris Wells or Donald Brown. If they pass on a RB in the first round, there are other options like Shonne Green in 2nd or 3rd round, Andre Brown or James Davis in 3rd or 4th round. I have heard all hype surrounding Knowshon Moreno, and i must say watching him, i see Reggie Bush or Darren Mcfaden, a slasher, most of his running plays are to the outside, not really a physical bruiser that you would need if you need to control the play clock. I say no to Knowshon Moreno.

chris wells has 15 receptions in his whole college career, mcdaniels wants a rb who can catch. lesean mccoy had 65 with one less year and we could get him in the second. andre brown is rated better than shonn greene now. moreno doesnt run away from contact like bush and mcfadden (not sure about mcfadden, i heard it, didnt watch the raiders enough) and moreno has good hands which is what our system needs

Chris Wells or Donald Brown, Donald Brown is a cut back runner, he will fit well with the Broncos zone blocking scheme.

I'm kinda partial to Lesean McCoy from Pitt. He has just amazing moves and cutback ability, a home run hitter. Some say he can't be an every down back but at 5'11 - 210lbs is that really true? Perhaps won't run between the tackles, but then that's the other RB/FB's job right? Does he remind anyone of another Pitt RB, Tony Dorsett who went 5-11 192?

I've seen alot of McCoy and he reminds me too much of Reggie Bush to wanna take him as our premier back. I wouldn't be mad at the pick cause he's definitely a baller and I'd love for us to grab a RB but he isn't our best option.

mccoy runs much much much much much much much much much much harder than reggie bush. he is more like a slightly slower clinton portis, we liked that guy didnt we? (hint of sarcasm)

Count me on the Don Brown bandwagon. The more I see this guy play, the more he reminds me of Emmitt Smith with his ability to bounce off hits, get the tough yardage, and catch the ball out of the backfield (a plus over Wells). Plus U think Eddie Royal has outstanding character to back up his exceptional talent?

I get reamed for this constantly by all the "use all our draft picks on D" people, but I could care less: if Brown is on the board at 18 we'd do well to draft him. Instant impact, and think about it: running back by committee is a huge failure, no one can get in a groove, and when they do, they get hurt. We need a tough, game-finishing, clock-consuming, chain-moving feature back like we've not had since Portis. In the broader scheme of things, that will only help our D.

all the good teams go RBBC these days. and about your kicker problem in your sig, 74% for a second year kicker who will only get more comfortable as he gets more seasoned is pretty good. he was 17/21 at one point in the season, and started crumbling when annoying "fans" like you got pissed off about when he missed a 40-something yarder.

I got ten bucks that says we dont draft a running back at all. coach m. already cut a couple and picked up a couple in free agency, plus peyton hillis has great hands maybe not the fastest guy on the field but he will run a couple of people over before being tackled. also i will put money on torain winning the starting job because he looks so much like terrel davis its not even funny.
A healthy Kenneth Dixon is a top 5 NFL RB.

I really think that Denver needs to Upgrade it's Defense before drafting a RB in the 1st Round. If they did I would want Knowshon Moreno at the 18th Pick.

                    My draft wishes

Bj Raji ------------#1 DT in the draft and our NT for years.
Rey Maualuga-----ILB Hard hitting LB who will remind people of Al Wilson's hits.
Lawerence Sidbury----OLB Could be the steal of the draft in 2nd Round.

i am totally against drafting a rb in the first round...a team can find a starting rb in any round in the draft

I wouldn't be upset if we took Moreno or Brown in the first round, but Wells is made of crystal and will be out of the league in 3 years.

Good point. Both moreno and brown are tough and durable, and havent been seriously dinged in college.

I dont see the Broncos drafting a 1st round RB for several reasons:

                            1) RB have a shelf life of about 4-6 years and without a respectable D even with a Terrell Davis winning could be hard.

                            2) we signed 3 FA RB this offseason and still have Torrain and Young this year will be a RBBC if we like it or not. A franchise RB will be the last piece of the puzzel.

This is an uneducated statement and I'm pretty sure the same kind of garbage that was said about Peterson when he came out.

Beanie is a friggin stud, don't kid yourself. I think he may have burnt any bridge he had with Denver but he will be a stud capable of leading the league in rushing wherever he ends up.

He is as close to Peterson as any back you will see come out in awhile. Big, strong, good vision, and breakaway speed, he's got the kind of talent in a RB that comes out once every 5 or 6 years.

Quit hating on Beanie, he had 1 injury-ridden season, 1, leave it alone cause it makes you sound stupid!
