  • QB this draft, next draft, or not at all?

I'm sure this has already been discussed countless times, but I felt like adding another post.

What do you think will/should happen?

Should the Broncos either attempt to trade for a Sanchez or Stafford? Or possibly draft another QB?

Another option would be to wait till next year and hope that either the Bears or the Broncos do poorly so we could draft a Bradford, Tebow, or McCoy.

Or, would McDaniels continue trying to get his guy and trade for Cassel. Or trade for some other QB.

The other option I can see would be for the Broncos to be set and start the Kyle Orton or Chris Simms era.

Well it's kind of hard to tell.

I say no QB this year, see how Orton and Simms do, then decide.

What should we do about a QB?

Between McCoy and Tebow, I think Tebow would have a better chance to become an NFL QB
There are a few good prospects in this year's draft that could become starters in two years or so; Curtis Painter and Rhett Bomar. I know there are others, but these two would fit our system better IMO

We need to field a serviceable NFL defense first. Then worry about the QB.

if orton or simms pans out, we let them stay a few years. if not we get someone next year

I think we try Orton or Simms this year and see what happens although I think we do draft a QB late on day two. there are a few to choose from. Bohmar, Painter and even Graham Harrell.

There's an awful lot of people out there who think Tebow will not even be a QB in the NFL, but a TE. It will be interesting to see how he projects next year. I remember Kiper saying he'd be lucky to get picked by the 6th round if he came out this year...

Yeah, I forgot Graham Harrell. He reminds me a bit of Tom Brady. Not a bad choice either. In fact, if I had to rank them three, I'd go:
                    1-Harrell
                    2-Bomar
                    3-Painter

I still believe that there's a good chance Sanchez could land at #12. The reason I say that is that this draft is so rich in DL's and LB's that if the teams ahead of us go for defensive players, that Sanchez could very well land on our lap
It's a good thing either way you look at it. If Sanchez gets taken earlier, that will open up the doors for a good defensive player for us to pick at #12, if he doesn't then chances are we would end up with him...

Rate round Qb in '09 draft and depending on how orton plays a early qb in '10
                      Humm....

Yeah, I think so too. I was just making a comparison of the choice of two evils; McCoy and Tebow. I would pass on them too..

GET SANCHEZ! I really think hes a guy who could start and be productive from day 1.

Sam Bradford seems like he would be thrive in a Patriots-style offense. An accurate, smart QB who can wing it all over the field. Broncos should tank the season and get this guy No. 1 in 2010.
