  • MUG's Mock Draft Challenge!

Alright, just a little game to pass the time. I'm going to list all the prospects that I believe are viable options at our selections in the draft. I want you guys to pick a guy from each selection list, the end result being your Denver mock draft. This should be fun because you can plan out which position to pick, and where, being able to look at all the possibilities and draft combinations beforehand. I'm very curious to see how people mock with the limited selections I've listed. I have an idea of my preferred mock draft, it will be interesting to see if anyone mirrors it. Now, get mocking!

I would be quite pleased if it turned out this way. But I've got some Q's for MUG, seeing is how he's probably the most intelligent poster when it comes to football prospects.

Do you see Richard Quinn falling to us in say the 5th or possibly the 6th? I know his stock has risen and he has worked out with a TON of teams. I really hope we pick him up, he is the best blocking tight end in the draft.

How do you feel about us picking Moreno even if Raji is on the board? I personally think Raji is the best DT out of a very weak class and personally think we should wait until next year for (crosses fingers) Mt. Cody. Moreno has a very unique skill set that doesn't come along very often and he fits our offense perfectly.

And finally, do you think Pat White warrants a 2nd round pick? If we do pick him I feel he would fit best at WR, but he has such versatility that it's hard to pass him up as long as he is available. Again a great fit for a low scoring offense.

                      Thanks!

3- Jasper brinkly (or best LB there)
                        4- terrence Taylor
                        5-captain munnerlyn
                        6-quinn cosby
                        7-chase daniel (or best QB)
7- Worrell Williams- or Rulon Davis-which ever is the better player- i dont know much- How about Rulon Davis.

Where i say best player, i do not know which player is best, but the best player at that position.

I like it similiar to this as i think we escape the first 2 rounds with 3 players that imo are all top 20 picks. In 3 we get help to plug the run and LB to backup our ??? (doom, moss). We still need help at CB and DE and DT and thats where taylor and captian come in. The rest is self explanatory and then in the next draft 2010- we can look at NT terrence cody and S eric berry. Or a QB if orton and chase dont pan out.

I'm no expert, but I'll play.

                              1. DE Everette Brown
                              1. DE Tyson Jackson
                              2. S Rashad Johnson
                              3. LB Jasper Brinkley
                              3. CB Victor Harris
                              4. DT Terrance Taylor
                              5. OC AQ Shipley
                              6. DE Everette Pedescleaux
                              7. WR Greg Carr
                              7. OG Brandon Walker

My familiarity drops off massively after about round 5, so the last three names are sort of crap-shoot type guys for depth. Maybe practice squad fodder. The only other thing I feel like explaining is the DT situation -- I'm afraid of Brace (back issues), and I think that if we take a Nose in the first two rounds, we might be less likely to take one of the 1st round studs next year if he doesn't pan out. With Taylor, we get a guy who can play in rotation for a year or so, and hopefully we can hold out until next year (or he surprises and plays well).
