  • Trading up to get BJ Raji

According to most mock drafts i have seen, they project him sliding to the 8th overall pick to Jacksonville . Pls move up and get the NT we need for the defense. Forget all this Sanchez hype, take Raji. Trade one of the 3rd round pick and the 12th overall pick to Jacksonville for their 8th overall, and then select BJ Raji.

    8th overall- BJ Raji

18th overall- Robert Ayers or Rey Malouga

    48th overall- Best Safety available

3rd round pick- Best Cornerback available

4th round pick- Best running back available

5th round pick-Curtis Painter QB, Purdue

6th round pick- Louie Sakoda K

    Broncos depth chart

    NT-Raji, Fields, Carlton Powell,
    DE-Thomas, Peterson, Darrell Reid
    OLB- Dumerville, Jarvis Moss
    ILB- Malouga, Larson
    ILB- Andra Davis, Boss Bailey
    OLB-DJ Williams, Wesley Woodyard
    S-Dawkins, Josh Barrett
    S- R Hill
    CB- Champ Bailey
    CB-Andre Goodman

I talked a little bit about this earlier today. I think we need to try our damnedest to get Raji, including trading up. I think we need a DE to complement him, but that's another discussion.

By the way, we have 2 3rd rounders, courtesy of Jay Cutler.

Broncos have so many needs, it seems risky to give away a 3rd round pick and move up for a guy that might like the weed. I say carpet bomb the front 7 and see what sticks.

Trading a 3rd Round Pick to get the #1 DT isn't too much.

BJ Raji reminds me of Vince Wilfork 6'2" 328lbs.

I am a huge Miami fan and went to The Rose Bowl when Wilfork was on the team. BJ Raji looks to me as good or better than Wilfork.

Maybe you are right, any idea what the Jax Jaguars are thinking? What sucks though is then Rey slips to the Chargers which is why I don't like this as the Chargers know what happened to the Broncos as soon as Al Wilson went down, they were in "Charge".

I would rather trade down if Raji is not available at 12. We can get a good NT like Brace in the late 1st/2nd if we trade down. We can target a top caliber NT next year (Terrence Cody).

Are you talking about the guy from Alabama?
That will be great. I wished he would've come out this year, that would've made things very interesting!

I know alot of mock drafts and analysts have Jax going for Raji but honestly if you think about it, they have a much larger need on the offensive line than they do at the defensive line. They were plauged with injuries on the line last season and then they lost their starting tackle. I definitely see them trying to get help at the WR position because of all the problems with Matt Jones. I dont see them giving up on David Gerrad just yet, so I think sanchez is also out of the mix.

Rajis use of weed was a rumor he never tested positive. Heck name a pro athelete who hasnt done weed or is at risk for doing it. We may never draft anyone if we took them all out of the draft. Ild settle for Brace if we cant get Raji

I was more worried about Green Bay going for Raji. It seems unlikely that he will be there at #12. We have so many needs on defense it seems a bit risky to gamble on one player in this spot.

A first and a 3rd that we got from Chicago is not much to give up for the number 1 DT in the draft.

And giving up the number 2 is worth giving up for the 2nd best NT in the draft

Yes, the guy is a behemoth. I was just watching the Alabama spring game and the dude is straight up sick. Not only is the guy very large and incredibly hard to move, he actually has some pretty decent speed and quickness. He has shown that he can run laterally down the line of scrimmage and make a tackle on the rb, which is very surprising given his size. I really wish this guy came out this year...

There were concerns over his knee. He wasn't the same when he came back, and he had noticeably packed on a little extra weight while injured.

He is definitely a "man mountain".

Ultimately, waiting a year might be what is best for him if he can stay healthy and keep his weight under control.

I would be concerned about the impact of his weight on his knee if I was a scout and would want to see him be productive for an entire season before I spent a top 5 or 10 pick on the guy.
