Now keep in mind, the team told Darrell Reid he will be used as an OLB when they signed him. So, he's in the mix for the 3-4 looks as well, and he's making the team not only for his contract, but he's an incredible special teams guy as well.

And I think Boss Bailey starts at WOLB. He's a great blitzer, he'll have to balk up a bit, but he's around 240 anyway.



As for who plays DE? Well we know Kenny Peterson is definitely in the rotation. After that its a big toss up. My guess, if we draft a NT, like we should (Raji, Brace, Baker, Hill, Scott, Taylor, Knighton), then Marcus Thomas definitely starts at one DE position. I'd think Carlton Powell would be in the mix as well since he's an excellent run defender. And then we have about 3 other guys that are scrubs to various degrees but could provide depth. DE is generally the least important position of the 3-4, the guy just has to be able to stand up a double team and stop the run. If you get a DE that can rush, that's just gravy, but Nolan runs a two-gap system, so traditionally, a pass rush from the DE is not expected.

Starting NT, Starting Power End for the 4-3 hybrid looks, Nickel CB, Developmental CB, developmental Safety, and ILB depth.


And then on offense, we need a starting RB, a #2 calibur TE that can block and catch, a Starting calibur OC, OG depth, WR depth, and QB depth.

Hes a show boat who they say likes to celebrate and has a high opinion of himself yes I understand those are his only negatives by scouts but he sounds to much like a RB we had to have in the 1st not to long ago. I guess we could always trade him for a Defensive player like we did Portis.

Moreno's flamboyancy has never been a detriment to his team as far as I'm aware. In fact, he was very much seen as a leader by his teammates.

or our #12 (if raji isn't there), for their 1st and brown? i feel like #18 there will be plenty we can get there, and at twelve if raji is gone everybody else will be a reach, so trade our twelve so the eagles can ensure their Moreno pick. Then at 23 or whenever they pick we get Donald Brown!? And if we get Everette Brown at 18, we'll be full of Browns, just like our D line a few years back! lol (i just remember always trading for Brown's D linemen) lol :go:

What hasnt really been mentioned yet is Morenos vision. HIS vision is Beyond ELITE!

When i first started looking at him i thought he was ok and i liked wells better and thought that andre brown or rashad jennings would be equally as good in the 3rd.

But then i watched pretty much every film i could find on him. His vision is beyond ridiculous. This kid can see wholes opening long before he gets there. He also knows how to make a whole. Which is one thing i havent seen a RB do since TD.

EX. on an off tackle run to the left. Moreno is running wide and he keeps his angle even wider. THat forces the DE to come down further to maintain gap control so Moreno doesnt get outside him to and round the corner. So Moreno keeps running wide, when he does this it also allows his other OL to get off their blocks and move to the next level and at the last moment he breaks it up inside. It looks like he is going to run right into the back of his OL, but then BOOM a whole formed right where he is going.

This is from his vision. He sees that if he pulls wide it will force the DE to come down, negating him from going laterally and collapsing the whole to be formed. It also allows the OL to finish their blocks and get set for him to break.

MORENO has ELITE cubtack ability not only because of his serious moves but because he can anticipate an opening or as i described above "make an opening"

Yes He made that whole. If he would have run the ball any differently the defenders would have also played differently and there would have been no whole.

In our ZBS and Guard pull scheme his vision and cutback will OWN! Think about the single back spread. The D has to worry about us throwing since we are spread and have sick WR. THen they have to worry about Moreno Running the ball through there spread out defense. Give him room to run and you are screwed. THen they also have to worry about him catching the ball, because he has better hands than a lot of the WR in this draft.


But he does run too high- and i worry if he does not follow his pads more, he will get beat up. But thats easy to coach and we happen to have the best RB coach in the business.

Don't you think a lot of our red zone and third down issues last year would have been solved by having Portis on the team? I'm definately warming on Moreno at 12.

Not counting I-AA players Ringer is by far the best at getting into the endzone. Shonne Green is the most consistent.

However the best player who combines speed strength consistancy and endzone capability is not a I A player Josh Vaughan is amazing.

I am not entirely sold on ringer either, but i wont go as far to say he sucks, he does not, but still ...... I dont know.....Somthing about him, could be boom or bust.

Like I have been sayin no player is a sure thing. I agree I like Hillis more then Shonn. I personally think we have enough backs if Selvin is healthy and I dont think Torrain is gunna ever be healty that said all we will need is 3rd down back which is not a top back used every down like people think Moreno or Ringer or Wells can be. Vaughan is a good blocker hes underrated and fits into the rotation

Moreno is too good to fall to #18. If we want him, we will have to hope he's still around at #12 and draft him there. Mayock has him as the 4th best player in this entire draft. He's a finished product, he does everything excellent from receiving, blocking, protecting the ball, and has moves to spare. He's doesn't have elite speed, but a lot of top RBs from Emmitt Smith to Terrell Davis did not either.

The more I watch Moreno play the more he reminds me of a larger Barry Sanders with that unreal lateral quickness and start/stop shifty explosiveness. Also the more I watch him play, the more he reminds me of TD with his "give me the ball when the game is on the line, and I will deliver" attitude.

I really have a hunch that he will be our pick at 12, if he's there. After all, the Patriots signed Corey Dillon as an FA, then drafted Maroney, so there is precedent.

Dont forget: he's a willing and fine pass protection blocker. "Willing" is the key word here.

Moreno = instant impact for this team, and that's what I want from my #12 pick, like Clady. Not a project which, to me, most DL are, esp the tackles.
