  • Trading Moreno?

Today the Eagles announced they are trying to organize a trade for Moreno. If the possibility comes where there is noone worth drafting in the #18 slot why not trade the eagles for a proven player on defense and a 1st round or 2nd round pick. There are other RB available in the draft but finding a good LB or possibly 3-4 DE is harder to find. With another pic and a player like Gocong or Gaither at OLB or Bradley at ILB we can draft an Offensive player earlier in the draft

1st. where did you hear this?
2nd. why would they make this public already?
3rd. We Desperately want Moreno too.
4th. At 18 we would snag him and never look back, unless they gave us their other 1st and 2nd and 3rd next year.
5th. they would never do that trade.
    So far:
    FA- Melvin Gordon. Brandon Scherff
    1. Kenneth Murray LB; 2. Shenault WR; 2B. Biadazz Center, 3. OT

1)ESPN reported that they are already in discussions for possible trade talks.
      2)Could be miss-direction
3)If we could get a proven player and another draft pick that isnt a bad trade also there are plenty of RB in the draft and considering how often a RB becomes a bust in the NFL it would behove us to look at others like Antone Smith who is project to go in the 4th whos stronger faster and has ok stats
      4)see 3
5)I dont know exactly what this trade would entale thats why I started a thread to discuss one that would be fare for both sides

i agree.. pull the trigger and trade down if we can... we still have massive holes in the d that need to be filled.. first rounders demand alot of coin, and if we are able to get there first, and a second or possibly an extra third, why not. get some extra bodies out here. we all seen how well eddie royal and brandon marshal worked out... and they weren't first rounders

If he was there at 18 im pretty sure the eagles would wait and figure that he would be there at 21. But if we can get their 21st and their 2nd id be all for it.

Good. Squeeze picks out of the Eagles for him. Sheldon Brown wants to be traded, maybe him and their 1st for #18?

I heard them announce it on ESPN when they were discussing the Draft they mentioned right before they mentioned us traveling to Cali to checkout Sanchez one more time. If this is for real we could easily make the trade heck we could even draft Moreno and make the trade it would still be worth the risk. Although I was more impressed with Shonn Green and Glenn Coffee last year then Moreno Wells or Brown

Ild feel alot safer with Brown in the backfield then Goodman that wouldnt be a bad trade.

Also the worry that Moreno isnt there might be worth to them to skip ahead 3 picks what I am worried about is they will trade up sooner and I am not willing to trade our #12. They want a back to be able to replace Westbrook who is getting old and they see Moreno as there best bet, if its a smoke screen depending on whose left it maybe worth looking at.

Goodman was actually in the top 5 last year in the passes defended category.

Yeah but it could be a fluke like a former CB of ours that the Bengals made the mistake on investing in. Goodman hasnt shown enough consistency for me

Actually, the Eagles will probably want to trade ahead of #18 because Denver is probably targeting him there. I could see them trading up with some team between picks 12 and 18 to snag Moreno.

The thing about that if it happens it just means we have a better chance of getting some big name Defensive players.

One would think they would go ahead of the Jets just to be safe so if they do trade up it just means the level of players available defensively at 18 will be higher

I found an article on it

It appears we are not in the possibilities as of now nor are the Redskins or the Bucs. It looks like they want to fall in between 14-17 which isnt a loss for us because if they do this we could see players like Matthews or Maualuga drop here with so few ILB it may be a blessing in disguise

Moreno is too good to fall to #18. If we want him, we will have to hope he's still around at #12 and draft him there. Mayock has him as the 4th best player in this entire draft. He's a finished product, he does everything excellent from receiving, blocking, protecting the ball, and has moves to spare. He's doesn't have elite speed, but a lot of top RBs from Emmitt Smith to Terrell Davis did not either.

                              That's a good point.

I suppose they would want the 12th pick if they were after Moreno.

What do you think would be fair compensation?
