  • Your Top 18 Broncos Big Board

We pick 12 and 18th. Lets see everyone's personal, denver broncos only, big boards. I want to see your Top 18. If you don't think a position or prospect is a fit for our team, leave him out.

    2. RB Knowshon Moreno
    3. CB Malcolm Jenkins
    4. DE Tyson Jackson
    5. LB Aaron Curry
    6. DE/LB Brian Orakpo
    7. DE/LB Robert Ayers
    8. QB Matt Stafford
    9. QB Mark Sanchez
    10. RB Chris Wells
    11. DE/LB Everette Brown

I left out WRs because I just don't feel we need one. Personal opinion. I also don't feel we need LBs either, so they took a back seat to a degree as well, especially the ILBs.

Malcom Jenkins over Curry and Orakpo (two guys we likely have no shot at)? That's a little mind-boggling.
Only fools bet against Tim Tebow.

      Team Tebow #108

      Yards, without points, mean nothing.

Curry is dropping because he does not transition to a 3-4 defense except as an ILB, and ILB in a 3-4 is not as valuable as a NT. Also, generally a 3-4 team has only one 3 down ILB. The other ILB is a 2 down thumper. We have DJ Williams to play ILB. Drafting Curry means one way or the other, we're going to have the highest paid 2 down ILB by a mile.

If we didn't have DJ, Curry would be higher. Heck, I thought I put him really high as it is. We don't need him. We do need Raji, Moreno, Jenkins, or Jackson quite badly though.

Feel free to make your own list. That's what this thread is for. *Your* personal list for the Broncos.

Well, like Curry, Orakpo is being viewed as struggling to make the transition to the 3-4, which is what we'll be running. If he's a pure 4-3 DE, he's not very valuable to us. Mike Mayock dropped him to his 20th best prospect because he does not believe he can play effectively in the 3-4. I put alot of stock in Mike Mayock, I think he's earned it. Mayock also doesn't like Curry in the 3-4 unless he's an ILB.

My theory with Jenkins is that we have no nickel back in a league where nickel backs start half the time. And next year, with Josh McDaneils proclamation that no one player can make a disproportionate amount of our salary cap, and Champ's contract going bonkers along with his aging, I think he'll be released. Thus, Jenkins could start at nickel this year and replace Champ next year. I also believe Jenkins is elite. His speed might have been average, but he graded out as the quickest CB in the other drills.

Although I disagree with your assessment of Jenksins being "elite" he is a great player and would love for us to consider him. But like Mayock, I believe he will take some time find his identity in the league and will eventually become a FS(Antrel Rolle). However, I totally agree with your prediction on how McDaniels will handle Champ and the situation that awaits the Broncos next year. It's a shame...I really really like Champ and what he brings to the team.

I don't mind criticism or talking points, but come on guys, if you want to chime in and crap on those partaking in the game, at least make your own Top 18 Broncos Big Board so we can see where you're coming from.

This is fun. Make your own list.

With Jay Cutler gone, I really think our offense is in greater need than most people expect. And I'm not necessarily calling out the QB spot. We need RB, and I know alot of people are going to disagree with me here, but I think we need another big WR. Atleast a playmaker at the split end. I mean we have Brandon, clear number 1. Eddie, 2 slash 3. I mean I understand that he could play the split end position, but I see McDaniels grooming him into our Wes Welker. Stoke is getting up there in age and I really don't see him with the team next year. Jabar Gaffney benefited by being NE's 4th WR and I don't see him making it past 3 on our depth Chart. I still say we need another WR.

If Oton isnt that good we can get Colt McCoy next year. He has a great arm great accuracy and his decision making skills can only be compared to Harrell at Texas Tech which is better. If you want an overrated QB who may or may not be a starter take Tebow next year. If god forbid we become the worst team in the NFL we get Sam Bradford. The truth is the Orton hasnt had an opportunity to prove himself and next years QB's are better-faster-stronger. Ild also say the same thing for the RB but to be honest the best ones I have seen are sophmores this year which means they might show up in the draft.

                          draft

i think that we need to pick up a couple players with the 1st round picks who can get pressure on the QB. Raji would be nice but i doubt he will fall to 12, tyson jackson would be a good choice from LSU. What do people think of picking up a QB in the later rounds. cassel and brady were both late picks so what about a rhett boman, Ray Feinga or john parker wilson to see what coach can do with them.

I would still take Sanchez or Stafford over McCoy, Bradford.....and especially Tebow. With next years draft Class I'm hoping we are targeting Defense. Terrence Cody, Brandon Spikes, Eric Berry, Taylor Mays. Would people start putting up their top 18 damnit!!!
