  • What i think Denver should do with their picks.

Denver Needs a solid QB and a Defender to help that front 7.

I think Mark Sanchez and McD would be a perfect match, and Rey Maualuga can help Denvers front 7.

Well Mark Sanchez is most likely to go in the top 5. I think They should trade to a team like the browns. Trade the 18th overal pick, 48th in the 2nd and 2010 2nd or bears 1st pick in 2010 for the 5th overal pick. Then they can get MS with the 5th pick. Then with the 12th pick draft Rey Manuluga.

    What do you guys think??
Why I'd rather have McD over Shany.

    Plain and Simple.

McD- A coach that can turn a 6th round QB
Into a Franchise QB ( Tom Brady)

Shany- A coach that can turn a 6th RB
Into a Franchise RB( Terrell Davis):salute!:
    I love you tho TD

No offense but i would hate that that's giving up the house for an unproven player that would make the cutler trade make no sense to me the most id trade up would be next years 1st from da bears and maybe a 3rd-4th this year but i dont even want sanchez id rather have...Rhett Bomar,Graham Harrell,Tom Brandstater,Brian Hoyer,Drew Willy,or Rudy Carpenter :salute!:

Personally, I'd really like the Broncos to draft Mark Sanchez, but I don't think that's in the cards.

I think both your picks are perfect, although IF a BJ Raji is available at 12 along with a Mark Sanchez, I would only be glad I didn't have to make the decision. I just wouldn't know what to do.

One item of particularly good fortune that does seem to be brewing in the rumor mill; the Broncos may be able to parlay that #12 into a bonanza if Sanchez is still around at 12. Both Washington and New York might be willing to give up the farm for a shot at the USC QB, and even if Raji is there, well, if the offer is right, move down.

The Broncos absolutely have to rebuild that defense in the 3-4 mold, so more high picks would allow Denver to stock up quickly.

DT/ NT Ron Brace, for example, looks like a guy who will hang around until late in the first and/or somewhere fairly early into the second round.

Without a real anchor, and I mean a solid DT, that 3-4 will have to remain only an occasional/situational defensive option, and everyone knows you absolutely must have those 5 technique DE's and versatile LBs.

Some very tough decisions coming up for the Bronco staff, no doubt. What's more, each of the first, second and maybe even the third choices HAVE to contribute right away if McDaniels is to achieve any semblance of the 'win now' mantra he preaches.

More picks greatly increase the chances of a quick defensive re-build. Even so, I'd be perfectly happy with Sanchez and Maualuga in the order you project them.

I would love for us to get Sanchez but would only approve if he fell to 8 or 9 and we only had to give up a 3rd rounder this year to move up from 12.

Very unlikely but possible. I'm not a big Rey-Rey fan but wouldn't be totally ticked if we got him with pick 18, no way he's worth 12!

I agree with this, but it would still be very difficult if BJ Raji was slipping toward the end of the top ten.

I guess my truest sense is that IF Sanchez were to slip all the way to 12, then take him. I'm not entirely sure the Broncos can afford to trade away any 1st, 2nd or 3rd round choices if we hope to rebuild quickly, and that's assuming this staff hits on every selection.

I honestly think Sanchez is a lock to be be a very good, if not stellar QB. You pass on him this season, and it may be quite a while, or at the very least, extremely expensive, to fill that critical position down the road.

No way Sanchez falls to Denver at 12. He goes to one of three teams, Seattle at 4, Jacksonville at 8, or San Francisco at 10. now way he goes through all of those teams and makes it to Big D. If Raji is there at 12 take him, if he is gone as is Sanchez, take either Jackson or Maybin at 12 and then get Maualuga at 18. that is what i would do and then follow that up with Raji's teammate on the Dline in the second round. that would give Denver a very solid middle in the new 3-4 defense they are going to play.

The only way Sanchez falls to 12 is if there is a trading frenzy inside the top ten NOT designed on landing a QB (say, OT's, D-line), but as you say, that still leaves Jacksonville at 8 and San Francisco at 10, both of which would take a very hard look at the USC QB.

Otherwise, I agree with your thinking, and honestly believe that is the way it will play out; Jackson, Maybin...maybe Brown, Maualuga at 18, maybe Cushing or even Mathews, but DT, DE, LB, especially ILB.

I was only saying I believe the Broncos will improve and not have an opportunity to land a franchise-type QB again for some time, if at all, and, as much as I like Orton personally, I just don't see him as a long-term answer...more like a bridge.

I like the idea of trading down in exchange for draft picks and not players.

But I do not like your idea. Why? Just personal preference.

I think some people are having a hard time dealing with the fact that our offense isn't going to be as good as it was last year, and they want a saviour in this years draft. We have a new coach tearing things up and makin them his own way. Let's wait to see what Orton does, and go with what is supposed to be a better QB class next year.
                        :go: sigpic
IF McD wins us a Superbowl, I'll THINK about not hating him, maybe.

It might take two first rounders to move up the draft, but if thats the case.....no the broncos should'nt do it.

Mark Sanchez is a good player, but as of right now, he is unproven. All the players are unproven when they come out of the draft. I am just saying that the denver defense has greater needs than the offense does.

If I were McD, I would stay put with the draft picks I have. And if a miricle happened that Sanchez fell to the 12th pick (which is highly unlikely), then I would take MS. This is not going to happen, so the broncos should use their first rounders to get a good defensive linemen and a hard nosed linebacker. :go:

Trading down for multiple first round picks (not your idea but one that has been floating this board) would be a monetary nightmare. The Browns don't have a whole lot of room capwise to deal with that many selections. Lastly, the talent of certain positions isn't as well and with the Browns picking at #18 players that I would like would likely be gone. The main player I do like in the draft is Mathews, because his father played with the Browns and his uncle was a mainstay with the Oilers.

Also, the Browns need a reciever and this year's top reciever won't be available that low.
