  • Casserly Says Cushing Falling

Tonight on the Networks Total Acess, Charlie Casserly said his contacts in the NFL 'aren't talking about' Brian Cushing.

The 3-4 teams don't believe he can rush the passer enough to warrant a high selection, and the 4-3 teams don't believe he can play in space well enough.

Casserly said, 'Now, I have no idea where he will land...'

we better draft him... the man is a monster....so many people hate him in these boards because they think he either took steroids or make a rascist facebook group. Even though the steroid one wasnt even true and there is not real proof he make the facebook group. He is a monster and cant wait for the broncos to call his name with the 12th overall baby unless somehow orakpo fall doubful

I dont like him because he isnt a great fit for our system. He isnt a good enough pass rusher to play outside, and if we drafted an inside linebacker i would much rather have Rey Maualuga. Cushing is also poor in coverage and injury prone.

well obviously you dont watch nfl network. Because they just said the complete opposite of what you just said. Saying how he can play a OLB and ILB and is one of the better pass defender. Kiper and mCshay and the nfl live crew today were talkin about how cushing is the more complete LB coming out of USC

I'd love him at 18 if he falls that far. He can play inside or out imo, but we'll see.

Well im a USC fan and have actually watched him play. He was a good college pass rusher but it wont translate to the NFL. He doesnt have any pass rush moves and is vary stiff in coverage. He times well running in a straight line but is bad at changing direction. I watched Total Access, NFL Live, and Sports Center Special and not once did they say Cushing was a complete linebacker. They said he isnt a great fit in a 3-4 or a 4-3 and if he's gonna make it in this league it will be as a 3-4 ILB. If were gonna go ILB in the 1st then Maualuga makes the most sense

He would be an ILB for the Broncos. We need to get bigger and tougher on defense. Our OLBs must be able to line up as DEs when necessary and our ILBs must be able to shed blocks and handle the trenches. But when I think about a 3-4 ILB, I think about Rey Maualuga or Jasper Brinkley.

I never said he's not going to be good, just that his only fit with the broncos would be at ILB, and if we draft an ILB it would make a lot more sense to take Maualuga
