  • Updated Junior Declare List (and Going Back to School List)

This website has recently transitioned to a rule that you can't edit posts that are more than 4 days old. I like it because it keeps people from deleting threads and changing what they said. Accountability is a good thing. However, the drawback is that it's going to create havoc for us in creating informational lists that need updating over a period longer than 4 days. So, we will have to deal with it the best we can. I only see major impacts with relation to the Junior List thread, the Free Agent Signings thread, and the Broncos Draft Prospect Visit Thread.

Anyway, here is the old Junior declare thread linked, there is some decent discussion.

        It's official:

Florida CB Joe Haden announced Sunday that he will forgo his senior year and enter the 2010 NFL Draft.

Haden went to the Gators as an "athlete" after playing quarterback in high school, as well as some safety and receiver. He mastered cornerback as a true freshman and started all three years. Considered the top cover corner in the nation, Haden led the Gators with four picks in 2009 and helped hold potential first-round WR Mardy Gilyard to just 41 yards in Saturday's Sugar Bowl. Haden could go as high as the top ten in April.

Cam Heyward of Ohio State has not officially said he is coming back. Some think he is but he has never said he was either way yet.

Heyward said in the link below, which was provided to you within the link in the first post, that even if he is a Top 10 selection, he will come back to school.

Boren's remained pretty mum about the subject though, correct? He might be an ideal selection, and he can play some Center as well. A combination of Iupati/Boren/Pouncey (Pick 2) might make my heart skip a beat.

It's sad to see him go as a Penn Stater. But he has a bright future ahead of him. Most electric LB for Penn State since Arrington.

Also, just reading the quote from Brian Bulaga's mom, it really sounds like he's leaning towards going in the draft.

Adding some more to the safety class this year, Reshad Jones has declared for the draft.

Alabama SS Reshad Jones will forgo his senior season and enter the 2010 NFL Draft.

He'll be joined by Crimson Tide weak-side linebacker Rennie Curran shortly. Jones has the BCS title game left to go, but racked up 68 regular season tackles as a fourth-year junior to finish second on the team and tied for the Alabama lead with three picks. The 6'2/215-pounder's forty time and change-of-direction skills will be monitored closely at February's Combine.

It looks like you could add Rennie Curran as well.

I'm not sure if this was overlooked, but it's seeming like Maurkice and Mike Pouncey are leaning towards going pro. Nothing official, but of major importance to the Broncos. Huge news if it comes official soon.

UF OL Mike Pouncy: "We're leaning towards going pro." (He and bro Maurkice)

Edit: TE Aaron Hernandez is leaning towards going pro as well. It's not official, but it's just about it seems for these 3 guys.

Florida TE Aaron Hernandez told me chances he goes NFL "looks good."

Thanks! Those guys are on Georgia, someone has the wrong team. I'll add Jones for now and keep an eye out to make sure it's legit. I don't understand why Curran would come out early.

North Carolina is going to have one of the best defenses of all time next season, everyone is coming back. They were beastly this year, next year is going to be insane.

On top of Bruce Carter, Marvin Austin, and Deunta Williams, now CB Kendric Burney and LB Quinn Sturdivant have decided to return.

North Carolina junior defensive back Deunta Williams said Sunday that he and four other defensive underclass teammates who all could have entered the NFL draft have collectively decided to return.

This is seriously a ton of talent returning. In their bowl breakdown thread here:

                              I had:

Austin in the 1st or 2nd
Carter in the 1st or 2nd
                              Sturdivant in the 2nd
Burney in the 2nd or 3rd
                              Williams in the 3rd
