  • Elevation inc"s new years mock off-season

    Tender and Trades:

Marshall to San Fran for their late 1st rd pick and 3rd rd pick (Having Crabtree and Marshall would pretty much guarantee the success of Alex smith. There isn’t much offense for these guys outside of Vernon Davis, and frank gore. A youthful Crabtree and a dynamic Marshall would create Havoc in the NCF West and bring them back into contention for the crown instantly.) Denver is reported to seek a 1st and 3rd and won’t budge. And singletary is just the coach to keep marshall in line…see Vernon Davis…..

Tony Sheffler to Carolina for their 4th rd pick(while mostly a running team, sheffler would open up the offense and give Matt Moore a reliable receiving option besides just Steve smith, basically having a nice weapon like sheffler would open that offense and they would become a power running team with good balance)

Kris Kuper to Buffalo for their 4th rd pick (Buffalo’s interior is a mess and while I fear kuper would be a bad fit there I do believe they would be one of this first teams to come calling for his services)

    Key FA pick-ups or re-signings:

WR Brandon Lloyd (I have always like his ability which is immense, but it was his maturity and focus that lacked question, I think he has found a spot under MCD…..to sit on the bench inactive for 14 games then come in maintain focus and act like a grown-up and be effective shows me he is ready for some better chances it also is a sign of maturity. I am very willing to give him his shot as a Number 3 or 4 WR this year)

RB Chester Taylor(great 3rd down back, gives us a healthy durable option and is a upgrade over buckhalter, Can easily take a full load, and should provide Kevin faulk like production)

DL Marcus Spears (should provide an instant starting force at LDE)

CB Marlin Jackson(should give us CB Depth and a viable Starting nickel CB while Alphonso And Tony carter keep learning the kinks of the pros and phonzy pulls his head out of his butt….)

    Key Losses:

Stokley, Marshall, Kuper, Ben Hamilton, Sheffler, Moss, Marcus Thomas, Nick Greisen, Brandon Gorin, Russ Hochstein

    Draft:

1 Trade---- our 11th pick is traded to the Seattle Seahawks for their 14th pick overall and 4th and 5th rd picks so they can select CB Joe Haden before San Francisco Grabs him at pick 13

DISCLAIMER I KNOW PEOPLE HATE TRADES BUT ITS ALL IN GOOD FUN!!!!!!

And these are actually more realistic than ya think….of course a new CBA would make all this moot…HAHAHA

    1. (From Seattle) DT Dan Williams
    1. (From San Fran) WR Brandon Lafell
    2. DE Arthur Jones
    3. QB Sean Canfield
    3. (from from San Fran) C Matt Tennant
    4. (From Seattle) RB Dexter Mccluster
    4. (From Buffalo) G Jon Asomoah
    4. G Thomas Austin
    4. (From Carolina) Rush Lb Jermaine Cunningham
    5. (From Seattle) ILB Ryan D’imperrio
    6. CB Brandon Brinkley
    7. OT Marlon winn

Solidifies are RDE/C/G needs as well as DL upgrade, ILB depth, CB depth, WR upgrade, Qb Upgrade, Return specialist, rush Lb dept…..

GET ER DONE MCD….CANT WAIT TO GET RIPPED ON THIS ONE!!!!!

BFSD is that you???? JK JK It can't be there are no pretty pics or bold text...

To many trades for me, but hey atleast they are realistic. (I actually just did a mock with 2 trades as well so I will let it slide LOL)

I like all of your FA's additions. I don't see how McD doesn't bring back Hockstein after how well he has filled in this year.

Dan Williams- I like him and think he is going to be a beast and should rise up to the mid/high first round pick by the time the draft comes around.

Brandon LaFell- While he is a good player he has only 1 game with over 100 yards this year and had many 30-40 yard games which doesn't make you a 1st round selection IMO.

Arthur Jones- I love this pick, he falls out of the 1st maybe even the 2nd rounds because of an injury. He was a beast and should bring a young play maker to our defensive line which we need in the worst way.

Sean Canfield- We disagree on Canfield, I don't think he has what it takes to be and starting NFL QB, I do think he could be a serviceable back up but nothing more then that. I like his 67.9 comp %, but he also isn't the most mobile QB just doesn't seem like he is anything more then what we have in brandstater who already has a year in our system.

Matt Tennant- I like this pick, he is good value in the 3rd, he has decent size, he is a little on light side at 290lbs but he has that 6'4" frame to add extra weight to.

Dexter Mccluster- RB/WR/KR/PR I love the fact that he can do so much and be good at it, but his size scares me 5'8" 16-170lbs. I would love to bring him in anyway because he is a mid round pick and if he comes in and can help on ST and add a little flash to our offense then I don't see a down side.

Jon Asomoah- Some people have him alot higher then this like mid 2nd round, I haen't put in enough time to pin him down yet so I will just split the difference and call him a 3rd rounder so I think he will go before you have him here he seems to be a solid player.

Thomas Austin- I love this pick I don't see how his stock doesn't rise after yet another good year and he played very well in the bowl game.

Jermaine Cunningham- I wanted to add him to my updated mock, but I already had two florida players ahead of him so I went a different direction. I think he has the size and motor to play OLB in the 3-4 and at the very least he should add a nice bit of depth behind ayers and doom.

Ryan D’imperrio- has been very productive for rutgers the last few years and I had him here in one of my first mocks as well. He doesn't get the hype the other ILBs are getting but I think he will rise some also.

      6. CB Brandon Brinkley- Don't know enough about him.
      7. OT Marlon winn- Don't know enough about him.

DANG YOU CAUGHT ME...HAHA JUST MESSING AROUND WITH THE TRADES STUFF

To many trades for me, but hey atleast they are realistic. (I actually just did a mock with 2 trades as well so I will let it slide LOL)

i think the trade market will be crazy this year for every team

I like all of your FA's additions. I don't see how McD doesn't bring back Hockstein after how well he has filled in this year.

im pretty sure i read somewhere he wont be ready till october and he is UFA, he hasnt even had surgery yet i think...could just re-sign him mid-season if need be

Dan Williams- I like him and think he is going to be a beast and should rise up to the mid/high first round pick by the time the draft comes around.

Brandon LaFell- While he is a good player he has only 1 game with over 100 yards this year and had many 30-40 yard games which doesn't make you a 1st round selection IMO.

tough conference, so so Qb solid 3 year production, good leader and locker room guy, plus great route runner, excellent hands and deceptive speed, come draft day i belive he is the 2nd Wr off the board

Arthur Jones- I love this pick, he falls out of the 1st maybe even the 2nd rounds because of an injury. He was a beast and should bring a young play maker to our defensive line which we need in the worst way.

i just think he fits everything MCd wants and i dont see any later rd options that even interest me, last year i liked hoyer and brandstater, this year none....perhaps maybe that Qb from fordham or something...

Matt Tennant- I like this pick, he is good value in the 3rd, he has decent size, he is a little on light side at 290lbs but he has that 6'4" frame to add extra weight to.

Dexter Mccluster- RB/WR/KR/PR I love the fact that he can do so much and be good at it, but his size scares me 5'8" 16-170lbs. i belive he is a third rd pick when all is said and done...just he aint there yet

Thomas Austin- I love this pick I don't see how his stock doesn't rise after yet another good year and he played very well in the bowl game.

i belive he is a third rd lock as well, just aint there yet...when he and asomoah rise i plan on changing them in

Jermaine Cunningham- I wanted to add him to my updated mock, but I already had two florida players ahead of him so I went a different direction. I think he has the size and motor to play OLB in the 3-4 and at the very least he should add a nice bit of depth behind ayers and doom.

Let me say very good job.

I really like the Dan Williams and Arthur Jones picks

              But

              1. Why let Chris Kuper go. Had had one of the best years a Guard could have in 2008 and a down year in 09 due to injury.

              2. Brandon LaFell doesn't impress me. He reminds me of Buster Davis. Alot of hype not alot of Production!!!!

              3. Do you really think that Dallas is going to let their Starting DE go????

              4. Sean Canfield isn't any better than Tom Brandsetter.

              5. Did you see McCluster's Bowl Game??? He won't go in the 4th Round.

              6. Jon Asamoah is the #2 rated Guard - 2nd Round Pick - 4 year Starter

So I really would love Dan Williams and Arthur Jones - they would be Great but the rest of your draft has alot of holes in it.

I dont get where the upgrade at WR happened. We lose BMarsh, keep Lloyd and draft LaFell.

                Were are the playmakers?

                  Were are the playmakers?

first off lloyd is a playmaker who was immature and a headcase in San fran he is immensely talented, and to me it appears the right head coach is the one he plays for now...he seems to have been much matured....sitting for 14 games with no complaints then coming in and doing your job well....lead me to belive he will get a good look from us....and he has the talent skills and now knowledge of the system.....

as for lafell all he has done is make plays in tough games against top SEC defenses....thats 2 playmakers and gaffney certainly showed he can play.....lafell also is a redzone threat with his size..

you may disagree with me but i feel We can win and win in the playoffs with a Wr core of Lafell/Royal/Gaffney/Lloyd/Mckinnely

he had a crappy year this year, he doesnt fit what MCD likes at all.....MCd will get his guys...kuper isnt one of them plain and simple...im fine with him staying and actually prefer it, but i dont see it as realistic...

                      2. Brandon LaFell doesn't impress me. He reminds me of Buster Davis. Alot of hype not alot of Production!!!!

actually he has consistent production with a medicore Qb in a tough SEC conference against some of the best defense around....the guy is legit and will end up being a beast....

                      3. Do you really think that Dallas is going to let their Starting DE go????

yes they have some otehr key areas to fix...but they are actually a legit SB right now....Spears will walk after they play the chargers in the SB for a bigger salary than dallas offers and i feel we will be the suprise bidder...

                      4. Sean Canfield isn't any better than Tom Brandsetter.

i believe he is and that he will be a solid 1-2 punch with brandy a back-up in the future.....i dont belive kyle orton makes it her past next year, but hey i wouldnt be suprised at all if we passed on canfield eitehr just a hunch i have....

                      5. Did you see McCluster's Bowl Game??? He won't go in the 4th Round.

he is 170lbs right now ever year size drops prospects regardless of height or speed when it comes to RB's....i believ he will make rd 4....early but still rd 4....

                      6. Jon Asamoah is the #2 rated Guard - 2nd Round Pick - 4 year Starter

i have him as my 5th rated guard but thats just me.....im no expert....i have mike johnson, thomas austin and sergio render all above him....

So I really would love Dan Williams and Arthur Jones - they would be Great but the rest of your draft has alot of holes in it.
fair enough your entitled to your thoughts....:salute!:

I don't see SF trading for Marshall. Singletary came out today and said he wants to pass much less and get back to smash mouth. They would have too much money tied up in WRs if they did this and they would lose needed draft picks. Their O-line is in worse shape than ours. We at least have two decent players (Clady and Harris), they have one (Staley). If you really want to project a trade for Marshall that gives us a 1st and 3rd, I think you have to stick with Baltimore. That's the only team in a position to possibly do that type of deal.

Buffalo doesn't need interior O-linemen. They drafted Wood and LeVitre last draft, both played well and were starters. They need OTs. Bad. They like Demetrius Bell okay at LT, but he was injured. Brad Butler was solid at RT, but he was injured. They have no depth and could upgrade outside. I don't like Kuper here. I think you could possibly mock a trade of Kuper to Washington though for a 4th.

I don't have a problem with any of your FA pickups. Marcus Spears has been a bust for Dallas. He never developed pass rush potential. They really missed Chris Canty. Jason Hatcher can probably replace Spears. The only thing here is, I think Spears sucks. He's better than what we have, but not by much. I'd rather keep McBean for the league minimum.

Your Seattle trade makes a good amount of sense.

Ok, now for the draft, there are my thoughts:

                          1. I don't like LaFell in the 1st Round. His speed, hands, and route running are all suspect. I think he's a 2nd Rounder. I think I'd rather gamble on Benn, or wait til the 2nd and try for Decker.

                          2. Dan Williams and Arthur Jones are fine. I like Jones alot and think he's a steal in the 2nd Round. I need to see more on Dan Williams, but he appears to be headed to the mid 1st.

                          3. I don't think we need another QB. Canfield is ok, I'd rather have Pike if he drops.

                          4. I think Tennant and Asamoah might be a little too low on your board, but I don't think the spots you have us taking them are impossible, just unlikely.

                          5. Maybe a little high on Austin, but not too bad. I still agree with you that he's interesting.

                          6. McCluster and Cunningham are good.

                          7. No real opinions on the last 3 guys.

The one major flaw I see is that you don't address CB early enough. I like Haden and Warren at the top, and then I think the best value is Thurmond and Verner in the 3rd or 4th. I think at least one CB in the 3rd or 4th is a must.

                          Otherwise, nicely done.

they have 2 first rd picks one of which i think they use on Anthony Davis, i then belive there second rd pick they will use on a CB. i think marshall is exactly what they need to get back to smashmouth, a big smashmouth Wr playmaker opens many things up for the run game....i will have to disagree here as i feel its entirely likely they make this move....

they like Alex smith and having Davis, Crabtree, masrhall pretty much guarentees his success if they patch up RT which i think they will with Anthony Davis....on defense they are pretty set outside of need some Dl depth and CB help but they just lost haden to seattle so they would have to reach for warren or wait till rd 2, getting marshall may tie up alot of money but there offesne would be nasty and there run game would improve becasue teams would in no way bea able to play close to stop gore and then worry about marshall, crabtree, davis...if im singletary im am entertaining this....

I think you could possibly mock a trade of Kuper to Washington though for a 4th.

well im actually thinking wood is gonna play center for them but maybe im mistaken???? if i am good catch and yes i already thought about the WA connection..lol

I'd rather keep McBean for the league minimum.

i think nunnely will get the best out of him, and i believe he is better than what we have period....lol

Suspect hands??? very few drops over 3 years, consistent production against top Sec corners...also during 2 games this year it was noted how crisp his routes are...i disagree i think decker speed is a issue in compariosn to lafell i think lafell runs a 4.4 at the combine...

                            2. Dan Williams and Arthur Jones are fine. I like Jones alot and think he's a steal in the 2nd Round. I need to see more on Dan Williams, but he appears to be headed to the mid 1st.

                            3. I don't think we need another QB. Canfield is ok, I'd rather have Pike if he drops.

fair enough to each his own....

                            4. I think Tennant and Asamoah might be a little too low on your board, but I don't think the spots you have us taking them are impossible, just unlikely.

i also belive both will rise but right now i have them slotted with the general populous...although i believe both are late 2nd early 3rd pciks by draft day...but we are still aways out for that...lol

                            5. Maybe a little high on Austin, but not too bad. I still agree with you that he's interesting.

disagree i still belive he is very good guard, and worth a third or 4th at worst....lol

                            6. McCluster and Cunningham are good.

                            7. No real opinions on the last 3 guys.

The one major flaw I see is that you don't address CB early enough. I like Haden and Warren at the top, and then I think the best value is Thurmond and Verner in the 3rd or 4th. I think at least one CB in the 3rd or 4th is a must.

i belive tony carter and alphons smith are legit.....and i belive marlin jackson can be a legit number 2 corner if not 1 when healthy....also MCD satemenst yesterday about champ lead me to belive they will try and have him finish his career here....thus the need for a high draft pick to me is uneccessary, when i addressed CB by grabbing marlin jackson in FA....i belive smith will come on next year as well....and carter should be solid depth....i was on the CB wagon for awhile untill i heard MCd wants champ in denver long term....its up to champ of course and his drive for a SB but i think we are on the right track....

                            Otherwise, nicely done.

great critique as always...i am finally getting my draft wings under me...still waiting for your bold predictions thread...HAHA senior bowl timeframe right???:salute!:

They would have too much money tied up in WRs if they did this and they would lose needed draft picks. Their O-line is in worse shape than ours. I agree with everything, except for the Buffalo aspect, which is minor. They picked Wood all along to ease him into the Center role. They have an average at best Center right now in Jeff Hangartner. And, Eric Wood's injury was so severe they aren't even sure when he will be back, and he might start the season on the PUP list. The Bills needs help on the OL in every position. Like you said at LT/RT, and at Guard. If Incognito isn't re-signed, the Bills are a team who would overpay for Kuper's help.

They really have fallen out of favor with Demetrius Bell. They were intially enamored by him when he stepped up and started to perform. But after he got a minor injury, they said he really shut down, and they wonder about his drive/toughness to play. Brad Butler is horrible, and they like Jamon Meredith's potential, even though he looked bad at times. Levitre and Wood are pretty much the only pplayers on the line that are safe. Kuper does make a lot of sense in Buffalo, but they also do like Incognito a lot, so he will probably stay. Incognito has stated that he loves the blue-collar town of Buffalo, and he would like to stay. The town likes him a lot, too, as he is a nasty nasty man. If Incognito isn't there, a trade to Buffalo makes sense, if not, you're right and Washington will be a good fit.

But other than that, I see everything eye-to-eye with you on your statement's MUG.
