Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

So basically we'll have 2 starting guards that are rookies? I don't like how weak our O-line is after this FA/Draft period. We lose Kuper, Hochstein and Hamilton, then we draft three rookies who are 3rd rounders or later, and expect them to play well after apparently taking a center out of position and playing him at Guard?
first off lloyd is a playmaker who was immature and a headcase in San fran he is immensely talented, and to me it appears the right head coach is the one he plays for now...he seems to have been much matured....sitting for 14 games with no complaints then coming in and doing your job well....lead me to belive he will get a good look from us....and he has the talent skills and now knowledge of the system.....
as for lafell all he has done is make plays in tough games against top SEC defenses....thats 2 playmakers and gaffney certainly showed he can play.....lafell also is a redzone threat with his size..
you may disagree with me but i feel We can win and win in the playoffs with a Wr core of Lafell/Royal/Gaffney/Lloyd/Mckinnely
Until Floyd shows that he can do this game in and game out then he is still a headcase.
Gaffney is not a play maker. He is possession reciever. That is why he had 200+ with no TD's in the final game
Lafell is very inconsitant with his hands and concentration.
McKinnely has shown flash's but still does not translate to a #1 reciever.
Who knows what we are going to get out of Royal.

What I want on this team and have wanted since week 8 is someone to take the heat off of Marshall. Now with us losing him we need to replace him and still get that guy.
I dont mind taking a reciever in the 1st two rounds. In fact I think it HAS to be addressed.
What I mind is us going after an unproven commodity as a #1 when there will be a few on the RFA landscape.
I also think that Bryant is as close to a NFL ready made reciever coming out this year.
I guess that in our off season I would like us to look to grab a one of the RFA recievers and draft Bryant
As for the lines, check the mocks that I have posted. I am most certainly understanding our lack of strength up front. I just think that it is on equal footing as our lack of playmakers outside as a offseason issue that needs to be addressed

????? who..im confused...stop confusing me lol.....
i belive seth olsen is our futre at LG, maybe just me but i belive that to be the case....i alos belibe they like micth erickson who they signed again to a futures contract for a back-up at RG, i also belive Austin who was center but played guard all season is versatile and good enough to come in and start at RG, i also belive Asomaoh can start as a rookie at RG thats how highly i feel about those 2....and i like tennant enough to belive he can bounce weigman by the bye week....
maybe its blind homerism but those 3 prospects as rookies to me are better for thsi scheme than kuper, hochsetin who wont be ready till october anyways, and hamilton who will walk in FA.....
also having austin gives a legit swing interior OL for G/C something only hochstein could hack but wont be ready...

fair enough but i think he shows that next year

he had no TD's because we suck in the redzone in pass protection and in general
Lafell is very inconsitant with his hands and concentration.
false he had 4 drops all year..and has been steady 3 years running...
McKinnely has shown flash's but still does not translate to a #1 reciever.
never said he did
Who knows what we are going to get out of Royal.
i belive MCd realizes he was used wrong and he should be playing the slot.....i expect a wleker year from him next year

fair enough and your criticsm are fair as well....but as we all know opinions differ and youyrs havent swayed mine....much like mine wont sway yours im sure...:salute!:

I really, really don't see Olsen starting. I suppose it's possible, but I can't recall him doing anything this year and we were AWFUL at Guard other than during our 6 game winning streak. I agree those are good prospects, but we would have to be hella lucky to have them actually start and play well.
I did get confused though, I thought since Wiegmann was still on the team you were looking for Tennant to move from Center to Guard. He would be a good addition at center, but I'd be very unhappy with our guard starters and depth if this is how it went. I'd much rather keep Kuper, start Tennant at Center after a 6-8 weeks, and draft a much better Guard prospect in the late 1st or early 2nd.

fair enough, i just belive austin and asomoah are andy levitre as a rookie good and he was a full time starter for buffalo and there only solid guard....
and i belive olsen will be ready but wasnt becasue MCD wasnt ready to make him ready.....i dont think he was starter material just yet this year but i do next year when we run a scheme that fits him....he is a power guard, i think he didnt play this year becasue the hybrid would have screwed up his devlopment, but thats just me...
anyways your concerns about rookies at guard are valid but guard is the easiest OL postion for rookie OL to make impact...and with clady and harris as dominat tackles they should be primed for success....
i actually am considering changing tennant since he reportedly only weighs 298.....his farme he could add ten more lbs at least which we would be great, but i have to see his weight come combine time.....
I would agree about Olsen. If he was really progressing he would have been put in when Hamilton struggled.
Then he would have been put in when Hockstein got injured.
So I think expecting him to start in year 2 might be a STRETCH. Who knows?
i think he didnt play becasue of the hybrid crap we ran, but from what i heard he looked good in camp he was just behind otehr guys....he also was sixth rd pick, so i didnt expect much in year 1, but i do belive he has the tools and skil lto start in the power scheme i belive we install full time next year.....
I'm thinking DEN must go ALL DL/OL with their first few picks. We must address the trenches before anything else. NO use taking a WR in the first round when we need to keep Orton safe in the pocket.
Also do not think we should draft a QB in the first 3 rounds.... Not with all the other issues we have. Like it or not, but Mcdaniels has placed all his eggs in the Orton-Brandstater basket.
I think most of your plan is sound. Would prefer a solid DL & OL free agent, which would allo DEN to grab a Mclain if he fell to us.... I wanted a 3rd round RB, but if we get Chester....

I'm confused, when did we tie up either of those to contracts that we cant get rid of.
Dont take this as a smarta** comment.
I just think that if McDaniels thinks that Orton isnt the way to go that he wont either draft a replacement for 2011 or find one in the next 18 months for 2011 via trade, RFA, UFA etc.

We are no way STUCK with Orton and Brandstater
It does appear to me that you misread what I wrote earlier. I don't think DEN is "stuck" with their QBs, and my point is that Mcd actually likes his options....
It sounds like Orton is their guy next year.... He'll be retained. Brandstater was his first QB draft pick,a nd they groomed him for a whole year. All we hear about from Mcdaniels is how tough it is to learn his system.... Si this training is deemed invaluable.
I could see them drafting a lter round QB, or taking a gamble on a rookie free agent. They may even scoop up a QB on the normal free agent market....
Chris Simms is gone. So, it boils down to what they think of Tom B.? I have no way of knowing this.... BUT, if they have faith and believe he can be their back-up.... I see them grabbing something in this draft class (just not a top-3 round selection).... They would take a flier on someone and make him the #3. If they feel Tom B. is not ready to be the back-up.... then they'll go gobble up something (somebody with experience) who another team lets go.
I really like the Dan Williams and Arthur Jones picks
But
1. Why let Chris Kuper go. Had had one of the best years a Guard could have in 2008 and a down year in 09 due to injury.
2. Brandon LaFell doesn't impress me. He reminds me of Buster Davis. Alot of hype not alot of Production!!!!
3. Do you really think that Dallas is going to let their Starting DE go????
4. Sean Canfield isn't any better than Tom Brandsetter.
5. Did you see McCluster's Bowl Game??? He won't go in the 4th Round.
6. Jon Asamoah is the #2 rated Guard - 2nd Round Pick - 4 year Starter
So I really would love Dan Williams and Arthur Jones - they would be Great but the rest of your draft has alot of holes in it.
What in the world are you talking about. When was Kuper hurt. Link it or i call BS. Kuper started every game this year. Injured guys who are hurting during the year miss practices Kuper didnt miss any.
