L O L @ rest of you. Seriously did you read MUG's post real close? Obviously not.

MUG, my friend. Derrick Harvey was drafted by Jacksonville in 2009.

I am more than positive you meant Derrick Morgan from Georgia Tech.

But just say no on the WR. Guard is actually a bigger need.
I agree with you. I like the McClain pick if he is there with the #11 but if not trade down and go with something along the line of my draft wish list.

        1. St. Louis - QB Jimmy Clausen
        2. Detroit - DT Ndamukong Suh
        3. Tampa Bay - S Eric Berry
        4. Washington - QB Sam Bradford
        5. Kansas City - LB Rolando McClain
        6. Seattle - OT Russell Okung
        7. Cleveland - CB Joe Haden
        8. Oakland - OT Bruce Campbell
        9. Buffalo - DT Gerald McCoy

I'm not sure who else Denver would take at this point other than Dez Bryant. Derrick Harvey is the best defensive player available, but he might not transition to OLB, and if Jax wins the coin toss, they'll pick him if they don't take Tebow. Bryant is the best offensive player, and best player overall. Trading down is an option, and then someone like Odrick comes into play.

Alot of folks believe McClain and Haden will make it to #10 or #11, depending on where we pick. I don't think either does. With those two gone and Cameron Heyward staying in school, I think Dez is the best available player at a position of need.
I agree with the BPA stance...however I'm not sure how Josh will play this. I believe the greater need is on the defensive side of the ball (upfront to be specific). So if we can trade down and still get a NT or DE we like I'm good with that.

        Thx,
        Joe

The 1st two rounds are going defense, NT,DE(pass rusher) or ILB and not in the order. Is that the consensus around here?
Can we all agree these are priorties as of right now?
Yeah - We all know how accurate last year's predicters were ??? Then they had to ridicule the Broncos to justify their lack of understanding.

BPA who fits their criteria or trade down makes the most sense based on last year and McDaniels current commentary

I though McD said himself that they are actually scouting. Because last year everything was so hectic they did BPA. We have more needs to fill the trenches than anything, so I don't see how we draft an Offensive player.

If, like MUG says, Dez Bryant is the best player in the draft, and in the top 10 you take the BPA, why would he fall to #10?

Tampa Bay could easily take him @ 3.

denver has the potential to make this defense very stoudt. We can fill some holes with some very good players and we could be very scary if drafted properly.

Whoops, you're right. I'm sure everyone knew whom I was referring to though. Harvey has been a little bit of a topic of debate here as of late as to whether he's a bust or not. He's on my brain.

This. If McClain is gone when we pick, we should look at taking Cody (especially if we can trade down and do so), and then with a later pick take Brandon Spikes. Spikes isnt as good against the run as McClain but he's really good at pass rushing and playing the ball. He deflects a lot of passes when blitzing and he intercepts a lot of passes near him. Id rather have McClain but taking a run stuffer like Cody who can help against the run and then a ILB like Spikes wouldnt be so bad.

I know a lot of people boo hoo on Cody because he doesnt play every down but if you can get a guy who can clamp down the run on 1st and 2nd down, that has huge value. If having Cody on the field on 1st and 2nd down leads to a 3rd and long, its kind of like he never left the field.
