And...here comes S Chad Jones. This is a superb Safety draft. Too bad we don't need one.

Yet another one to add. This one isn't much of a splash, but a solid player no less.
Marshall RB Darius Marshall announced Monday that he'll forgo his senior year and enter the 2010 NFL Draft.
In addition to the Thundering Herd's featured runner, Marshall was the team's kick returner in all three of his seasons. Ahmad Bradshaw's successor, the 5'10/190-pound back averaged 5.0 YPC en route to 1,131 yards and 11 TDs as a junior. Marshall was rarely used as a pass catcher, however, and will be a developmental pick. He is unlikely to be drafted on the first day.sigpic

Amari Spievey, CB from Iowa, declares for the NFL draft. I definetly don't like the decision, and I'm not too high on Spievey either. I thought he could benefit from another year personally. I still feel he has a lot to fine-tune in his game.

Just look at the 4 S...
Chad Jones...Hard Hitter, great run stopper--Dawkins type
Earl Thomas...Ballhawk, can make plays from everywhere, can also play corner...Ed Reed Type
Taylor Mays... Another tough guy, can project into a Jack LB...A. Wilson type..or Bob sanders but bigger.
Eric Berry...Can hit, cover, and run stop...what S stands for...Can do it all... Cross between Troy, and a Ed Reed
This is the FUTURE of the S-SS position...This draft will be remembered for that position...sigpic Adopted By:

And, if we are talking about the Broncos, I'll go with Chad Jones. Like I said earlier, a future of McBath and Chad Jones would be straight up scary.
Agree with this. Well said
Also, the Spievey decision is a strange one. It's not like this draft is missing in 2nd tier, #2 or #3 CB prospects.

And your Taylor Mays and Adrian Wilson comparison is true. Mays will need a good bit of work on technique before he will be the well-rounded safety that Wilson is, but there definetly is the ability there to turn him into a Wilson-type safety. Another guy I really like in the draft is Nate Allen from USF. A good cover safety, fantastic motor, hard worker on and off the field, and a sure tackler. He's often overlooked with all the big names, but I could see him making a Jairus Byrd/Louis Delmas impact his rookie year and catch a lot of people by surprise.
I thought alot more people would be RAVING about him...This class is so deep you may be able to get him in the 4th or 5th round....A STEAL...
Another thing I was thinking about....Undrafted F/A....There is gonna be alot of talent out there...Not just S, but all positions...This is the year to stock up on draft picks...
Guys like Church from Toledo at S....And your Allen, are gonna get overlooked.
I have Church in my draft at our 7th rd...But this guy has ALOT of talent, great in space, and is sure handed when he gets the chance to pick it...sigpic Adopted By:

Big fan of Wright. He's not just a ballhawk, he will knock you out. His season wasn't a great one, I had him in the 1st Round prior to the season. No idea where he will go now. Probably 3rd-4th.
I don't think these Safeties are going to slip much though (response to what ItalianBronco said), at least not the really good ones. Nate Allen is definitely in the 2nd-3rd round mix. I think just a lot of teams will be drafting safeties. Good for us as other players will fall.
