  • FA and Trades No Draft

    Trades:

Marshall to Cleveland for Cribbs(and we will pay him)+2nd(don't want to reach that far down into our wallets and have two top ten picks)+3rd(cheap players yet good are found in the 3rd round)+6th(just a garbage pick like what we gave to Chicago and that turned into Johnny Knox)

Scheffler & Hillis to Washington for a 2nd or 3rd(just stockpiling cheap underrated talent)

    Free Agents:

Johnny Jolly-In his only year in the 3-4 Jolly dominated and really help make that defense good this year especially against the run. Can play both NT and DE.

Vince Wilfork-Has been dominant for years and even though Fields played well this year McDaniels kept saying last offseason that he will look at everything that can make the team better and Wilfork will do that.

Logan Mankins-another New England guy knows McDaniels' system and will be a significant upgrade.

As far as trades this will be a busy offseason and will make alot of the people in the media cringe, but last year McDaniels didn't seem to care and the team did well. He will continue to bring in "McDaniels" players and we will be once again the team that wins that isn't supossed to.

As far as Free Agency we don't get many players but they are good and "McDaniels" type of players and are all going to cost a very VERY shiney penny.

Goes without saying that Dumervil will get paid big time $$$

    Draft:

    1-Rolando McClain ILB Alabama

    2-Reshad Jones S Georgia

    2-Anthony Dixon RB Mississippi State

    3-Tyson Aluala DE California

    3-Sean Canfield QB Oregon State

    4-Alterraun Verner CB UCLA

    6-John Conner FB Kentucky

    6-Kenny Alfred C Washington State

This is all considering that all of the picks we "traded" for are for this draft and not some for 2011.

I like almost everything except anthoy dixon for trevard lindley and alteraun verner for John Jerry to increase the depth to the line. but other than that pretty darn good mock, i would be happy with it.

also it would be pretty sick to have the savior of the world on the team (JOHN CONNER) destroy all machines.

Yeah I had to stop and think a little about Lindley instead of Dixon and wait until a later to get a power back. But as you can tell Dixon won and I got a corner later.

haha since you begged, I'll take a look.. I'll just comment on the picks

1-Rolando McClain ILB Alabama - Good pick, seen a lot of people also pick him. Could be a great power inside.

2-Reshad Jones S Georgia - Need a CB more than a Safety for depth in my mind. Renaldo Hill (still a little in the tank) and Dawkins is such a leader we are 'OK' here with Bruon developing as a rookie.

2-Anthony Dixon RB Mississippi State (Another one??? Just curious, what are your thoughts for the RB? Being constructive, I don't see much need but would like to hear ya out and not bash)

3-Tyson Aluala DE California - Good Pick, Probably one of our biggest needs. We really don't have Huge DE's that can help stuff up the mid in a 34 system. Thomas and peterson just don't cut it all the way.

3-Sean Canfield QB Oregon State Ehhhhhh? I'm the same way with Orton but I don't see McD doing this. But hey, if we draft a QB, lets get a 1st or 2nd rounder that has more potential.

4-Alterraun Verner CB UCLA There we go! Draft for depth at round 4. Good

6-John Conner FB Kentucky We don't really use FB as much with our spread 3 offense. Half the time we use a FB its short yardage so this is possibly a good pick but hillis is a big guy and spencer has done his part. We could use some help in other areas more than a FB.

6-Kenny Alfred C Washington State Needs to be a higher pick IMO but still good thinking on the position.

        Decent Job m8

On the Dixon and Conner picks I was thinking to eliminate a weak point for us and that was short yardage. Dixon runs about 6-1 230-240 and doesn't go down the after the first hit. Conner is in my opinion the best blocking, maybe all around FB, in this draft and Spencer is an average FB at best. Granted we don't use a FB much but when we do wouldn't you want a guy that can just blow up LB trying to shoot thier gaps and a RB that can get some tough yards?

Did you look at my FA if all goes as I hope/plan our front 3 will be entirely different with DE:Jolly DT:Wilfork DE:Aluala.

I don't see Marshall going to Cleveland, especially for so many picks They have a lot of holes and need to add as much talent as they can.

There's also no way we get a 2nd and 3rd for Scheffler and Hillis. That would mean Scheff is worth a 2nd which we will NEVER get, and that Hillis is worth a 3rd, which is absolutely insane. MAYBE we can get a 4th for Scheff and Hillis.

I'm also not sure why we'd trade Marshall and then not add a WR in FA, trades, or draft. If Marshall leaves, we should spend our 1st pick on Dez Bryant.

It'd be nice to have that FB and i still think Hillis is a very tough runner who just had a rough first game and got unreasonably benched the rest of the season.

My larger point about the FB is that we have bigger problems that would probably be needed to be taken care of first (our defense front 3, maybe an ILB) and depth at CB. I think our offense line could use some beef, harris did ok but will he be for us at RT next year?? who knows. Injuries killed us. Draft some solid line for the short yardage, not another RB. It'd be a sumwhat wasted pick in my mind.

You can't expect those guys to be there.. I bet Jolly is locked down and the others we have to compete with other teams... think we can get them? maybe. but if we can draft first might as well.

                    1. I meant a 2nd or a 3rd for both Scheffler and Hillis not both.

                    2. If Cribbs comes to town then Gaffney will take Marshall's spot, where he proved he can be good look at the last two games of the year, Eddie moves to the slot, where he will be like Wes Welker in McDaniels' system, and lastly Cribbs takes Eddie's spot, where I think he can prove he is more than just a return specialist.

                    3. If two doesn't work, then McDaniels will be forced to adjust like he has shown he can in NE Brady went down he adjusted to Cassel's strengths, and like he did last year when he turned Orton into a respectable QB. His adjustment might be a 2 TE set and pound away and hide the weakness 'til next year or spread the defense out more to make it easier for Orton and his WR to get open.

But, NE has two DL leaving and they can only franchise one so either Wilfork or Green will be there. And, Jolly has the some situation where they can only franchise one player either Jolly or a talented young CB to takeover for the Packers whe Al Haris is gone so chances are both will be available.

That is true, but i'm not speaking of them.

I'm just saying, you can't plan out an entire 3man front that we don't have from free agency. Plenty of teams could have their eye on them. Just thinking, it may be best for one, maybe two and draft the other.

Make it a bit balance and maybe safer?

Yeah I see what you are saying about the OL but whose to say that I am not right and you are I mean it is a mock draft and right now it is not clear what our biggest needs are you know. What we can say is that without a doubt Marshall will be traded, in my mind, it's just not clear as to who it will be. You can also say that Scheffler will be on the Trading Black as well but like Marshall who knows where he ends up. Shanahan and Portis in Washington might have some bad blood and Shanny might want Hillis and McDaniels doesn't so to me it makes sense to trade two players that fit in with Shanny's system to Shanahan for something.
