moss sucked in Oakland they got what he was worth at the time
the nose tackle position is very rare but honestly wr is more glamorus and no matter the owner or team you look for big names and big talent Marshall is both I don't see why nobody can see that both teams get rid of disgruntled players and it's a win win both teams would come out smiling

But teams that are rebuilding and trying to bring back a winning tradition cannot afford that risk.Leave a comment:

Oh, that happens alot. And that is why Marshall *will* get traded for some degree of value.
However, when have teams ever paid top value for a player like Marshall whom is disgruntled?
Randy Moss was disgruntled with Oakland, he was traded for a 4th Round pick to New England. A 4th.
Shaun Rogers and Kris Jenkins were disgruntled Pro Bowl Nose Tackles. The rarest of all positions outside of an elite QB. They were traded for a mere 2nd Round pick each.
I think Marshall follows this trend and we get one 2nd Round pick for him.Leave a comment:

LOL I had to stop reading at this. So we get a 2 a 3 and a 6 PLUS Cribbs for Marshall?
So who's the GM of Cleveland when this trade goes down? He must be a life long Denver fan.
And a 2 or 3 for Sheffler and Hillis? We'll be lucky to get a 5th for Scheff and no way Hillis net a draft pick. He's either on our 53 or cut.

Alot of folks on this forum have trouble understanding that just because a guy is a good football player, it does not mean NFL teams want him. Character and off-the-field issues are just as important as production, as well as the financial ramifications and risk that comes with the player.
Marshall might be a "10" as a player, but he's about a "-1000" as a person and risk.Leave a comment:

Because without him the Browns can draft players of NEED. Marshall is not a consistant target whatsoever. Half the time he is beating women and throwing temper tantrums. That is not a consistant player. That is a troubled individual who does not DESERVE to play in the NFL. The only thing Marshall deserves is to spend time in prison. That is what would happen to me if I beat women as often as he does. I would be sitting in prison right now for domestic violence. But since Marshall has millions he gets away with it.
The Browns got rid of Edwards because he had a me-first attitude and couldn't catch anything. The Browns got rid of Winslow because he used the media to attack the team. Marshall does both. He doesn't care about the team - only himself. For proof of it look at his attitude during your preseason. He threw a hissy fit and refused to take part in practice. Batting down balls rather than catching them. Further, since his days in college (his juvenile records are sealed) he has a history of run ins with the law involving domestic violence. Marshall does not deserve to play in the NFL and I would gladly take 53 people off the street than to sign Marshall.
The Browns have two young recievers in MoMass and Robiskie. MoMass proved this year that he is a #1. Robiskie didn't get much playing time but next year he should get more and should be a legit #2 reciever. That leaves the Browns with Mike Furrey as the #3. Furrey is not a reliable player on the field (he does great things off the field though). The Browns need to get a #3 reciever to boost the team's effectiveness on 3rd down.Leave a comment:

Depends on the player.
In Marshall's case no #1's would be a hell of a lot better than somebody you cannot trust that has a history of beating women and throwing tantrums by holding out & refusing to practice.
Marshall absolutely SHOULD NOT be traded to the Browns. The team just got rid of two prima donnas in Edwards and Winslow. To go around and get a player that is even WORSE than them defeats the entire purpose.Leave a comment:

Trades:
Marshall to Cleveland for Cribbs(and we will pay him)+2nd(don't want to reach that far down into our wallets and have two top ten picks)+3rd(cheap players yet good are found in the 3rd round)+6th(just a garbage pick like what we gave to Chicago and that turned into Johnny Knox)
Scheffler & Hillis to Washington for a 2nd or 3rd(just stockpiling cheap underrated talent)
.
So who's the GM of Cleveland when this trade goes down? He must be a life long Denver fan.

The Browns have somebody named MoMass. You should look him up. He showed that he should start last year. So, no, the Browns don't need a "#1" reciever. The Browns need a slot reciever. Robiskie wasn't given enough time starting. Next year he should start opposite MoMass. That leaves the Browns without a slot reciever.
The Browns do not need another diva WR like Edwards who fans nicknamed "Leon" after the commercials on TV. Because, Edwards literally WAS Leon. Marshall, he loves to beat on women. That is not what the Browns need - a player that doesn't understand that domestic violence is against the law. Marshall has a VERY long rap sheet. I have ABSOLUTELY no interest whatsoever in Marshall. Marshall is a detriment to the team with his history of beating women. He is nothing but trouble and nothing he says will ever change that.Leave a comment:

Really good for the Denver Broncos.
Really bad for the Cleveland Browns.
Marshall is not a slot reciever. The Browns need a reliable #3 reciever. Brandon Marshall does not want to be a #3 reciever. That is unless he wants to make $4 million a year and get 20-30 catches a year.
Something tells me that Marshall does not want that. Marshall wants to be a #1 reciever. So, I suggest that you find a team that did not just spend two draft picks on recievers.
The Browns also have a lot of glaring needs. Sending Cribbs to the Broncos and two draft picks takes away from the Browns. That trade leaves the Browns with two less draft picks and a glaring need on Special Teams. So, with even less draft picks the Browns will have solved absolutely NOTHING and still have the exact same needs that they had before. Which are:
1. A leader in the defensive secondary (safety)
2. A desperate need at RT
3. A need for a slot reciever
4. DE
5. Pass-rushing LB
6. ILB (because Bowens really isn't that good)
7. RB (Because Jerome Harrison isn't a franchise back)
8. A TE
9. A Punter

Overall I like your offseason. I do like the Marshall trade since I dont think Bowlen wants to pay for another high 1st rounder, I would love to get a 2nd or 3rd for Scheff and Hillis i dont think we will get it but I would love it. Like you said signing those guys would cost a very shiney penny but if we could they would fill some major holes.
I really like McClain he and Williams will be a force especially with Wilfork in front of them. I like Jones but we need a CB more than a S but Dawkins wont play forever and we can improve on Hill. I dont think we need another RB the improvements to the oline should improve our short yardage conversions, Moreno and Buckhalter should be able to convert if the oline plays like it should with Mankins and Clady being one of the best left sides in the nfl. Aluala will be a very good 3-4 DE and a very solid pick. I do think a franchise QB is a need eventually but I dont think Canfield is a franchise QB. Maybe McD can make Canfield into a franchise QB. I am not that high on Verner but a lot of people on these boards are. I dont know if we really use a FB enough to justify using a draft pick but maybe we do need one after our struggles with short yardage. I dont know too much on Alfred but C is a huge hole right now and if possible a higher pick would be justified.
Overall it is a solid offseason filling many of our holes. The Dline would be improved ten fold with the additions wilfork, Aluala, and Jolly, McClain is a playmaker and a vocal leader, improving our run D a ton and he can drop into coverage.Leave a comment:
