  • Trade DOOM????

I was on GD and saw a thread on Dumervil leading the league in sacks with 17, but he was 99th amoung LB's in tackles. He was also 4th on the team in tackles.

People are starting to say he is a liability in run defense. In games i watched, he was a liability. That being said, in the 3-4, an OLB's job is to be a pass rushing LB. It is the ILB and DL to stop the run.

Doom isnt irriplaceable so he could be let go and replaced. IMO OLB is one of the easiest positions on defense to replace. Not saying i want him gone, but if what others are saying is true, other teams will pick up on it and just run at him.

Our D was suspect in the last half of the season. Givin our O didnt help by keeping them on the feild all the time with 3 and outs, but they started to wear down to often and to fast.

If we traded Doom for a first, third and fifth, would anyone be upset? And if we did get rid of him, who would replace him either draft choice or FA or exsisting player?

the NFL SACK LEADER should not be traded. and go check out what Alastor said in the thread about Doom being 99th tackles. you'll understand more then.

You are saying it is easy to replace a guy that led the league with 17 sacks. I don't care if his run defense isn't that good. It was his first year in the 3-4.
Most of the big runs against us were not to the outside were Doom was. HB's gashed us through the middle because our DE's were garbage. I've gotten tired of us trading or releasing top-notch pass rushers over the years like Trevor Pryce, Bertrand Berry, and Hayward.

Yes extremely ahahha. He might not be seen with a lot of tackles because he was being blitzed a lot, but he did his job in that postion right? A lot of teams run the 4-3 in which you have 3 lb's that arent being blitzed nearly as much as the ones in 3-4, so they would logically have more tackles. Now D.J. had alot of tackles because the broncos wanted to use him from sideline to sideline to control the middle of the field, instead of a monster for the blitz like they did with doom. I think he will get signed again, the broncos want to hold onto him hes a very valuable player, and is still growing keep that in mind. As for your other question i rather not even think of us getting rid of doom

Again, i dont want to trade him, just want input on others thoughts. In GD others were saying he was a liability.

I bet he doesn't make it to March 5 Free Agency,

We sign him before hand to make sure he stays.

To answer your question...if he was traded I think jerry Hughes, Eric Norwood, and Brandon lang would be the best choices to replace him.

                  For the love of god....

                  NO!

You can't keep trading away your best players and expect to get better.

No. He's in his first season as an OLB and was our best pass rusher by 100 miles who would be incredibly hard to replace.

Truth is, Dumervil wasn't as great as people are making him sound this season. He did lead the NFL in sacks, but the tackles are lacking heavily.

HOWEVER, it was his first year and that is an extremely hard position to do well in the first few seasons. I think he his tackles will go up, and he will continue to be a beast when it comes to pass rushing.

                      So trade him? No way.

I'd rather sign Jarvis Moss to a big contract....but I guess that is just my opinion.

I say anytime a bronco makes the pro bowl we should get rid of them. No player is bigger than the team right?
