There is good depth for receivers but none with Bryants talent, someones with a WR like Fitz or C/A Johnson you can just tell he will be a great player.

If we can't or don't trade down then its about taking the BAP at a position of relevant need and that will probably be Bryant.

If this kid comes in and makes plays next year and opens up the O then you will see what an addition he could be, he is also deadly in the red zone.

There would already be questions regarding his route running, unless you are going to suggest he is a 4.3 guy, which I doubt. Coming from a spread offense, he would already have an adjustment to make, and now without the benefit of recent game action, I think those questions will begin to surface as much as anything else.

I can think of two players, Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon, that are tearing it up right now as rookies, and the Colts got them much later than a top ten pick.

The WR position is the most over-rated position in all of football, which is why the Patriots won Super Bowls with Troy Brown, David Givens and Deon Branch, and have won jack since Randy Moss arrived.

Same with Terrell Owens...his departure form the Cowboys opened the door for Austin Miles, and the overall team got better.

Randy Moss, Chad Johnson, TO, Brandon Marshall, Steve Smith, etc all have one thing in common: none of them own Super Bowl rings for a reason.

You can get WR's, and you don't have to take one in the top ten to do it.
No one is saying a top WR wins you a SB but they still make a big difference to the team and can open up the whole O, which we badly need to do.

All draft positions have busts and some late round steals but alot of the top WR's are from round 1.

btw - I liked Collie last year but its pretty obvious that him and Garcon are standing out because you have Manning throwing them the ball, if they weren't at the colts they may have had pretty quiet seasons.

I would also be willing to bet he will disappoint.

On top of all of that, Bryant could be selected at the same draft choice as Michael Crabtree, which spells contract negotiation issues, etc, and if he holds out for any substantial length of time, his rookie year would be ruined, especially in the wake of not playing this past season for OSU.

Please, let's hope McD is smarter than that.

Please say NO to Dez Bryant.
I generally don't agree with a thing you say....not this time though! I think Bryant would be a BIG reach. Talented but troubled.
Never argue with an idiot...he'll only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience!

Laugh...and the whole world laughs with you!
Laugh like a lunatic for no apparent reason...and they'll leave you alone!

I agree we keep marshall draft bryant slide royal to the slot they cant cover all three of them then u got the factor of Kenny McKinley hes got alot of talent plays like marshall and bryant but not as brod. but i also think that we should draft Tim tebow in the second round, myron roll in the third let him play nickel his first year and learn under champ be set his second year. dexter mccluster in the forth round. and try to pick up jullius peppers and larry foote

Y'all keep forgetting about Gaffney. He came here from NE, Josh has a Man Crush on Gaffney, he said Gaffney is very smart and knows all of the WR positions, and he is dependable, so if we keep Marshall, i doubt we draft Bryant.

I think if we keep Marshall we have bigger needs, but I wouldn't be upset to see Dez

obviously mcdaniels believes he can get by on the recievers we have. orton threw for 415 yards without royal and marshall and mckinley. but if we make changes to our reciever core i say we cut stokley and draft jordan shipley cause that boys got some serious hands.

I really agree with you! To me Shipley just fits the mold of a McD WR.

If marshall stays i'd like to see mcclain. assumin dumervil's resigned and not traded, having him, mcclain, and williams would make for a nice linebacker core. The d-line needs MASSIVE help, but at 10/11 there wont b a DT or 3-4DE worth taking. Another option is earl thomas, cuz hill is garb and bdawk cant cover anyone, not to mention his age. So mcclain or thomas would b good with me, get a WR whether marshall's a bronco or not in FA or later rounds.

With or without Marshall expect McD to correct his previous draft mistakes. He failed to draft any D linemen and we got torched on the line. We wont reach much for players like Quinn or Smith. We will take BPA that fills a need. If we hit O line hard in FA which I think we will expect Dan Williams (if available) in the first and Tyson Alualu in the second. I like Toby Gerhart in the third.

So in FA we fix our O line and the draft we address our D line and running game. We instantly can expect another two or three wins (some of the close games we lost) .
