  • McClain Or Bryant?

It seems to me that the growing argument between fans moving towards the combine/draft is who will denver take at 10/11(coin flip)? Many of us think its McClain (including me) others think its Bryant. I think both of these players have a tremdous upside and one if not both could be gone by the time the Broncs pick. So i ask this what is your guys thoughts on the 10/11 pick? McClain,Bryant or something else. All thoughts welcome, and lets not bash each others ideas this is supposed to be fun.

I have this sneaky suspicion McClain will not be there at #10/11.

In no way shape or form do I believe for one instance Dez Bryant is even on Denver Broncos board.

That leaves pretty much noone for Denver to draft without reaching horrible for and trade down is most likely scenario.

But in your scenario McClain would be top 5 on McDaniels Board as where Bryant isnt even on it so McClain would be the pick.

For all you haters, I am sticking with Wootton as Denver's first pick after a trade down in 1st. He skipped Senior Bowl to finish rehab and be ready for the combine. I've seen 2 recent drafts with Wootton now in top 25 even with the remarks about his knee injury from 2008. It takes full year to recover which he has had. He will be a beast at combine and everyone will sing his praises.

The problem is, Wooten was never that good to begin with.

He's a third round pick at best.

I hope your right that Bryant isnt even on their radar. I really dont like the pick. I dont know much about wooten. Is he DT or DE? If we trade down i hope we address the DL or OL big time

I honestly think Oderick is slowly becoming an option there at 10/11. He is showing UP at the senior bowl and is as close to perfect (size wise) and is really showing his talents to be considered for that selection.

If it was just these 2 players, I'd take McClain in a heartbeat. The guy is a great defensive presence and I will trust anyone that comes out of Sabens defense to be a very smart and capable player.

I personally don't tink ILB is a need, not that high anyway. I think Davis is very good, especially if the front 3 can do a better job of eating space.

I also want Marshall gone, so there you have it!

It may not be an immediate need, however you must admit that we do need a major increase in backup talent. Woodyard was TERRIBLE this season and we really do need a better developmental backup this season rather than Wesley. I believe that if McClain is available at 11, though there is a very strong possibility that he will not, we would not hesitate to pick him.

You could very well be right. If he's the BPA then I can understand that. I just think we have serious needs elsewhere in both sides of the line, and probably at WR.

                    DE Tamba Hali
                    DT Jimmy Kennedy
                    DE Michael Haynes
                    DT Courtney Brown
                    DT Anthony Adams

Every DL drafted in first 2 rounds to come out of PSU has busted........

                    Call me superstitious.........

For me McClain is my favorite player in the entire draft so if we were to take him i would be very pleased. He is a beast and could lead our defense for the next decade. But if he is not there i think we most def need to look at the BPA on defense line or trade down. I just am not sold on us taking a WR this high.

                        Honestly, I see the top 9 playing out like this;

                        1. Rams-Ndamakong Suh
                        2. Lions-Gerald McCoy
                        3. Bucs-Dez Bryant
                        4. Redskins-Eric Berry
                        5. Chiefs-Rolando McClain
                        6. Seahawks-Russell Okung
                        7. Browns-Joe Haden
                        8. Raiders-Anthony Davis
                        9. Bills-Bryan Bulaga

At this point, someone will try and move up for Clausen or Bradford, my guesses are Seattle from 14, or Minnesota from 30.

My prediction: Rather we are at 10 or 11 means alot. I say the pick is without a doubt Sam Bradford. Lets be honest here, Bradford should be the #1 pick in this draft but the only thing holding him back is his injury concerns and the fact that he may not be able to work out fully before the draft. Dropping him into our laps.
I know everyone thinks McDaniels is sold on Orton, but what else do you expect him to say? Kyle is the guy he drove the "golden child" out for, and he is really his only option at the moment. Of course he is not going to say "we need an upgrade"
I say the QB's both fall. Clausen is not a franchise caliber QB and teams will see that, Bradford has all of the ability but the injury concerns drop him just far enough, plus the fact that teams will question how he can adjust to a pro-style offense after mainly running the spread in college. The teams in the top 10 that need a QB. Washington, Seattle, and Buffalo, none of them run any form of a spread.
After these 9 guys are gone, there is nobody worth reaching on, so McDaniels gets his franchise QB. take it to the bank!

I do not see Shanahan passing on Clausen. Nope. Bradford otoh will have an Aaron Rogers free fall imo. Could be some team moves back into late round 1 to grab him.

Dez Bryant from those two. ILB isnt a concern now, nor will it be for a couple of years I would guess. Woodyard really wasnt as bad as people want to make him out to be this year, it was one bad game against Dallas Clark that sparked this notion.

If I had my choice of anyone, Jared Odrick. "Cursed" teams/systems/whatevers turn out exceptions to the "rules" all the time. Jeff Tedfrod QBs? Aaron Rodgers. Steve Spurrier WRs? Sidney Rice. And its not like Tamba Hali has been a terrible player, 15.5 sacks in his first two years, with good tackle numbers. Last year was a down year, and this year he moved to that rush backer position.

Next would probably be Dan Williams. This allows us to move Chris Baker to DE, where he could be a very dsiruptive force.

I think Ben Tate will be the best back taken in the 2010 draft. (5/3/10)
