  • Dez Bryant..really??

So i Have looked at almost everybodys mocks. To my knowledge probably 80% of the people on here want Dez Bryant with the 11th pick. But to me the question is why?? I understand hes the best wide reciever in the draft. i understand hes a very good deep threat.

Honestly our Denver Broncos need a lot of help right now. We need D-Line, O-Line, a QB that is actually a threat, and probably some young talent in the secondary. Dez Bryant may be the best deep threat in the draft but tell me this. how is he going to be a deep threat if we dont have somebody who can give it to him deep. kyle Orton is not the answer guys im sorry. Why want a guy when we just went three full seasons with a guy who had 3 100+ catches in all of them. Did B-Marsh help us win?? Did he get us over the edge?? No. So why do people think Dez Bryant will? Weve tried this for three years with a star wide out and it has not worked. Isnt it time we try something else. Why waste a FIRST ROUNDER on something that isnt going to get us over the hump.

Dez Bryant is not the answer.
So im asking everybody on this entire forum why do you want Dez Bryant if he isnt going to get us over the edge?? THINK ABOUT IT

Actually, I see it more as a spread between Rolando Mcclain, Dez, and some trading back and getting Iupati/Odrick. I personally would like to get Dan Williams or Rolando Mcclain, but that is probably not going to happen.

Oh and the reason you mostly see Dez is because we trade Marshall for a 1st and 3rd, thus giving another pick to address the trenches. I do agree with the part that we need to Beef up the trenches though.

Boy i would love if we got Mcclain and Dan Williams in the same draft. With the two first rounders. IDK to me Mcclain and williams sound better then WIlliams and Bryant etc.

Yeah but with that spot, you usually draft the best available guy if u can, and yes, Marshall did help us single handedly win some of those games, Dallas, Indy (I know we didnt win but any chance we had was cause of him), and in NE, I think we need him until we def. know what we're doing with BRandon...

I dunno. I think our main needs are on the offensive line and defensive line. We need to get better at stopping the run. Seriously, over 200 yards rushing to Kansas City???

Still, the combination of Marshall and Bryant could rival what Arizona has with Fitz and Boldin. I dunno' that the passing game is the problem, though. We lost games when our running game got stopped. I think O-Line is our big need. That... and Spencer Larson being healthy.

            All a smokescreen.

Clausen is the pick they will move up for.

Keep in mind that most mock drafts have Dez Bryant going to us ASSUMING that Brandon Marshall is traded (>50% IMO)

And most of those mock drafts also assume that we get at least a 1st round pick for him, and then they have us taking a guy on the defensive line or the offensive line such as Mike Iupati or Dan Williams.

After watching Iupati's unimpressive performance at the Senior Bowl, I'm more inclined to re-sign Kuper and start him or Seth Olsen at Left Guard, have the other one at right guard. And get a center in the draft (Pouncey) or free agency.

I am also a huge fan of Arrelious Benn.

Benn is pretty nice, I think our draft board stuff seriously depends on what we do with Marsh, if we keep him I think him and Royal make a nice combo (If McD decides to utilize Royal), but I think he he goes we have to snag Bryant for sure.

I really liked Taylor Mays but heard he suffered at the Senior Bowl, guess we still have a combine to go through too tho

Because without Marshall our offense would be scary. In the bad way.

                    What people don't understand:

Dez Bryant is an elite WR prospect. There hasn't been a prospect like him since Calvin Johnson or Larry Fitz. If he is there when we select we have to take him, he would be the best player available and he fills a big need. Marshall is a big headache and will be gone via free agency.

He wouldn't be my favorite pick, but he would be the best player available, by far.
                    1. LB Arthur Brown Kansas State
                    2. SS Dj Swearinger South Carolina

Just look at my signature and you'll see who i want. ive seen lots of mocks and they think we will get Bryant. I hope not tho. we have good depth at WR behind Marshall and Eddie royal can be a #1 WR. he was when he went to Virgina Tech

Man, you couldn't have said any better than that. Everybody wants these elite recievers but they seem to forget one thing; we don't have anybody to throw them the damn ball. What is it with these people? With the current offense we run we only need half backs, full backs, and good slot recievers. To draft someone other than that would be a complete waste of talent.
As I have said before, we are currently stuck with the short game because we have a qb who can't make his reads quick enough and who can't throw the long ball with any consistency.
We can blame the short game on Mcd's system all we want and thats probably true but why is the short game the only thing we currently have in Denver? "The Quarterback". Need not look any further than New Englands' Tom Brady going down field at least 8-10 times per game. Actually, this is McD's fault too as he is the one who gave us Orton. I'm not dissing Orton but we need to draft Skelton who has all the intangibles to make this offense a once again 3 dimensional system. This will take time, but thats all we have right now.
