New Mock Offseason
I havent done a mock i a little while, and i have been doing some thinking. I have been looking at everyones mock and looking at tape and stats and i have made my new mock that i WILL NOT change again until after the combine.
This mock offseason is both what i want to happen and what i think will happen. Obviously some of this mock i dont want to happen, but it is very possible. I will start with FA, pre-draft trades, then the draft. IMO this will be a crazy offseason, with no CBA i think their will be alot of trades. I know teams will have 2 tags, but if they use both, that will be to expensive for alot of teams. Using both tags will make it so that team will not be able to be active in FA.
Re-signs/Franchise Tag(s):
Kyle Orton: 2 year deal for $6 million. This will give Tom Brandstator time to make himself ready to start.
Brandon Marshall: 4 year deal worth 36 million. He will get the money he well deserves. I know it isnt the most reliable website, but here is a link. It says that Marsh and the Broncos are signitures away from a deal.
Matt Prater: Sign him to a 4 year $8 million deal. He has come to be the clutch kicker we have wanted him to be.
Restructures:
Champ Bailey: Restructures so he can stay here and finally earn a SB after 1 or 2 more years. Possibly moves to Sefety in next couple years. IMO he wants to retire here.
Daniel Graham: Wants to stay here with McD cause he knows he might not get a shot anywhere else.
Free Agency:
Eugene Amano: Sign him to a 2 year deal. He will be a MAJOR upgrade over what had previously had. He was the OG for CJ2K and proved to be an excelent OG.
Kevin Walter: He has been quite this year, which will keep the competion low for who gets him. He is tall and reliable across the middle. He has great hands and will replace Stokley in the future.
Kaseem Osgood: One if not the best ST in the league.
Ben Watson: Another one of "McD's" guys. Great receiving TE to replace Scheff.
Dunta Robinson: He is a speedy guy with some skills. He doesnt want to be in Houston. He should get picked up by us.
David Carr: He looked great in Houston when he wasnt on his back. At 31 he will be here for approx 3-4 years depending on how good he does in camp. He will push KO for the starting job.
Jerome Harrison: I know he is a RFA, but i think he will be tendered for a 2nd. We can use our origonal second and hand it to Cleveland for this speedy man. He will Compliment Moreno very well.
Pre-Draft Trades:
Elvis Dumervil: Traded to Miami for their 1st, 4th, and 2011 2nd round pick. As we all know, Mike Nolan is now the DC in Mia. He will want Dumervil to be the pass rushing OLB there. Joey Porter is causing headaches down there and both Nolan and Parcels would love to have Dumervil take over.
Chris Kuper: Traded to Seattle for a 2nd round pick. Seattle has gone to a ZBS and as we all know Kuper is one of the best in the ZBS. we will be sad to see him leave but he doesnt fit this system.
Tony Scheffler: Traded to Arizona for a 4th round pick. We wont get much for him, cause he hasnt made a splash like the likes of Gonzo, Gates, Keller, or Winslow. People (broncosfansd) will argue otherwise, but we all know the truth.
Draft:
After all the trades we will be left with;
#10/11 overall
#12 overall (MIA)
#40 overall (SEA)
#80 overall
#108 overall (MIA)
#112 overall
#123 overall (ARI)
#206 overall
#237 overall
*******Draft day trade*******
Trade the #10/11 to BAL for the #26 overall, #57 overall, and 2011 3rd round pick. They go all in on moving up to ensure they draft Dez Bryant WR OSU
#14- Dan Williams DT Tenn.- Argueably one of the best DT's in this upcoming draft. He is talked about as the most NFL ready player in the draft as well. He will anchor the d-line for years to come.
#26- Brandon Graham OLB Mich.- He will be the replacement to Dumervil. He had a STELLAR Senior Bowl. He made MVP of it. He seems like a mirror image of Dumervil IMO.
#40- Maurkice Pouncey OC Florida- He can sit behind Mawae and learn the NFL way of life. We dont want to many rookies starting on the o-line. When he starts we will have the best and youngest o-line in the league.
#57- Brandon Spikes ILB Florida- His little incedent has dropped his value a little, but his talent is undeniable. He is a solid tackler (he doesnt do arm tackles), he is a vocal leader of the defense, and he always around the ball. He is great aginst the run (which we lack). He will rotate with Davis and take over later in the year.
#80- Corey Wootton DE Northwestern- At 6-6 280, he can be a beast at DE. He can start in a year or two after learning the system from Vonnie Holiday.
#108- Torrel Troup DT UCF- He was a pretty good DT in a small school called UCF. Alot of people on these boards already have him mocked to us.
#112- Kyle Wilson CB Boise State- He kind of hurt his stock IMO by his quiet Senior Bowl, so he will slide to us here hopefully. He will have one of the fastest 40 times in the combine. He will be a solid back-up for Champ or Goodman. IMO he will be better than Smith.
#123- Jordan Shipley WR Texas- He is fast at probably a 4.49 in the 40. He runs good routes and catches most balls.
#206-LeGarrette Blount RB Oregon-His stock has risen a little since his STELLAR preformance at the Senior Bowl. He was projected as one of the top RB's coming out before his incident. He and his old coach have both said he has grown up and moved past his mishap. He has learned from it and will NOT repeat it. He will help us immensly in the run game.
#237- Zoltan Mesko P Michigan- IMO the best punter in college. He will battle Colquit for the starting gig.
This is a different draft than anyone elses. I wanted to switch it up a little and give people something they havent seen that actually CAN happen.
