Pioli controls the team not Haley. Early on in the year it was quite known
around here at least that if it were up to Haley Croyle would have became the
starter at QB, but Pioli insisted that it should be Cassel.

On the ESPN ticker, Vince Wilfork made a statement concerning the franchise tag the Patriots will most likely slap on him. Apparently he wants a long term deal or to be "free".

Interesting development, nothing earth shattering: I think Wilfork hitting the market is a possibility now...

I highly doubt any of the big-name NT's will even hit the open market. Wilfork, Hampton, and Franklin are all going to be slapped with the tag if they can't come to an agreement before FA begins. Unfortunately, we're going to have to address the position via the draft if we believe it is necessary.

Personally, I'd like to see a guy like Cam Thomas as I do believe he still has untapped potential, and he really could develop into a good player. It really depends on how the coaching staff views Chris Baker in terms of his progress to this point, and his future upside. I wouldn't be opposed to even using Baker like a Haloti Ngata role, as he does have a lot of athleticism. He did play DE at Penn State in multiple packages before he went to Hampton. I really look forward to seeing Pedescleaux and Baker during OTAs/Pre-Season. Hopefully they take advantage of the opportunity, as any position across the DL should be up for grabs (barring a stud rookie selection).

Yeah, with Pioli's love and success, in NE, with drafting DL and that being such
an obvious hole on the team and Williams being the only real legit option I think
we will lean that way. I'd love for Bradford to be there so we can trade down
a little bit and still get him, but that's just wishful thinking IMO.

I know there's a lot of validity to your argument. I'm just really hoping you're wrong. I could even see KC taking Williams just so we can't.
