Mawae has definitly lost a step or two and he made the PB on name alone. But that doesnt mean that he cant play. He held the point of attack all season, and Wegs didnt. You dont remember all the preasure up the middle coming on both rushing and passing plays? This would be a great pick up. There is no downside. We improve on the field, he is a great lockerroom guy, and a team leader (sounds like Dawkins). Plus it isnt like he is going to take pt away from a young guy that needs to develope. Fact is that the depth at C on our team sucks. Bring him in, cut ties with Wegs, draft a young C in the first 3 rounds, and let him learn his craft buy one of the best of this generation.

How I see it:
I like Mike Johnson. I think he's the most NFL ready guard coming out. But it's his flaws that make me think he won't be in a Broncos uniform. He didn't pull much in college and we know that's big for McD. He's got a small frame and average athletic ability. He's not too quick, either. And we know that McD values athletic guards. I also don't think he shows much versatility, either. He always struggled at LT.
But his strengths are great. He's an awesome run blocker. Hard worker, high motor, smart. All in all I wouldn't be mad at all if we picked him, I just don't think he quite fits what we're looking for.
I'm sure some team will reach for Troup because they are desperate for a nose tackle. Probably Buffalo at #41. And I don't think nose tackle is a huge need for us but obviously thats still up for debate.
I really don't think Spievey makes it past the 2nd round.
Micah Johnson is ok. I'd much rather take Donald Butler out of Washington or Joe Pawelek from Baylor. Both are McD guys to the fullest and have awesome instincts. Just an opinion.
Love Thomas Austin. I think he's incredibly versatile, smart, married (no distractions), and is a team leader. I'm surprised I haven't seen him in more mocks. He's everything McD is looking for.
I don't know much about McCoy so I can't comment.
Overall not bad.
The main reason I have Johnson there is because of this reason. Also because we would not be reaching for him at that spot. He can step right in and gell.
I would be blown away if at this point someone took Troup in the second. See me after the combine. If he interviews well then yea he might just go low 2nd.
I would be shocked for Speivey to go before late 3rd. His numbers just dont hold up. But if you're like me you see the glas as half full and realize that there arent any numbers because nobody threw his way. Remind you of anyone!?
Yes I would take any of those three. We need some depth behind Davis. He was awesome last year but man if he goes down for a long period of time....
The cupboard is pretty bare.
I think that Thomas Austin will have a long career as a jack of all trades. And with Mcd this is paramount.I need more Oline, please and thank youComment

Well last year we had AS for free... Now he is basically the 14th pick in my eyes. I expect him to play like it....But you know what. If he was in this draft class....He would be one of the top CB's....Thanx Blondie79 for the sweet Sig....Love it and I will rock it with pridesigpicComment

Correction, we got Tony Carter for free. He was a UFA. Smith was still a 2nd rounder and cost us a 1st...not to mention didn't live up to expectations..quoting McD, Smith would be our nickel back this year and instead he was plummeting down the depth chart.Comment

Cody is more ready for an all you can eat buffet than the NFL. He's the one pick that I would be unhappy with.Comment
