  • Elevation's Pre Combine Off-Season

    Free Agents-

    1. RDE Vonnie Holliday- the best DE we had great for a 3rd down roation role, we would be stupid to not bring him back

    2. RB Lendale White- legit redzone power back who scored 15 Td's in 2008, underused last year while collins blew and johnson tried for 2000

    3. WR Brandon Lloyd- a underated WR who is a big play threat but has attitude and work ethic issues, sitting for 14 weeks inactive then coming and playing great shows me he is maturing and i want him to get a legit shot here, he has always made big plays around the league....

    4. G Bobbie Williams- a beast run blocker, and solid pass protector who weighs 345 lbs and is suprisingly agile, should be a great 1 year bridge to are youngster guards were grooming, will start from day 1.

    5. CB Rod Hood- a solid back-up who always plays well, provides us youngre depth than ty law and better skills and youth, allows smith and carter to keep working hard without to much pressure.....

    Trades-

    1. Denver trades the 11th pick to the giants for there 15th overall and third rd picks- We need a elite DE and 11 is a tad high, 15 is perfect though. I don’t feel we need Dez Bryant since marshall stays, and Rolando mclain just doesn’t make much sense financially. However the giants could really use Mclain if he is there or Earl Thomas since there safties suck…heck even weather spoon is a option for them….and they would certainly have to get ahead of teams like Houston, Miami, Seattle for that to happen. So they bite.

    2. Denver trades Peyton Hillis to Washington for 5th rd pick- Shanny loves hillis…enough said!!!!

    3. Denver trades Sheffler to Carolina for 4th rd pick- Matt moore should be there new Qb, and frankly he has 1 WR weapon, sheffler will open the run game and offense up even more by stretching the field and give moore another weapon for success….they already have a great run game, they just need another receiving threat.

    Draft-

    1. DE Jared Odrick (Penn State)- gives us a all round DE capable of constant disruption and penetration our RDE spot this year was horrible, we had no pass rush, and no run defense at all…Odrick provides both and is the best 5 tech in this draft

    2. NT Cam Thomas (UNC)- Gives us a powerful Back-up NT to keep fields fresh in a rotation. Fields is a solid NT but wears down with no help, Thomas should help out here. This also would allow Marcus Thomas and Chris Baker to move to LDE where I think they fit better.

    3. OG Jon Jerry (Ole Miss)- Gives us a dominant run blocking back-up guard for olsen and Bobby Williams and Kuper, should be the final piece for the next year to our guard woes.

    3. S Myron Rolle (FSU)- A cerebal athlete and leader, someone to build a defense around, good insticncts, work ethic and dedication. Would be a dymanic force with mcbath and set us up for years. Dawkins and hill should be good for this year but we need to prep for the future.

    4. RB Brandon James (Florida)- gives us a situational big ply threat with his speed and agility in the return game and game situations. Also a very good KR who can relive eddie royal who just isn’t that great at it.

    4. QB Jonathan Crompton (Tenesse)- would be the third Qb on the roster and has a much better NFL skill set than brandstater, he has all the tools and with the right coaching should easily be a very good Qb in a year to replace Orton or back-up a franchsie guy next year.

    5. C Erik Cook (New Mexico)- Dominant player in the Mountain west, lunch pail worker who only gave up 1 sack, should be very good depth behind Weigman

    6. ILB Ryan D’Imperrio (Rutgers)- Should provide great TED back-up depth behind Andra Davis, and good special teams play. Does everything well but a tad slow on the 40 time. keeps him from playing jack backer. But should be a very solid player over Larsen….

    7. WR Mike Williams (Syracuse)- according to scouts , he quit his team which is a huge no-no worthwhile risk in rd seven as he has a very GOOD NFLskill set with tons of upside. His school screwed him and Im willing to see what he has got.

    UDFA

    WR- Verran Tucker (California)
    RB- Mikell Simpson (Virginia)
    CB- Chris Chancellor (Clemson)
    G- Charlie Tanner (Texas)
    G- Jaques Mcclendon (Tenesse)
    C- Garret Andersen (South Carolina)
    DE/OLB- Dexter Davis (Arizona State)
T- Kieth Buckman (North Dakota State)
    DT- Travis Ivey (Maryland)
    DE- John Russel (Wake Forest)

    Roster

    QB- Orton/Crompton(R)/Brandstater
    WR- Marshall/Gaffney/Royal/Lloyd/Mckinnely/Mike Williams(R)
    RB- Moreno/Buckhalter/Lendale White/Brandon James(R)
    FB- Spencer Larsen/Marquez Branson
    TE- Daniel Graham/Richard Quinn/Marquez Branson
    OT- Clady/Harris/Gorin
    G- Bobbie Williams/Kris Kuper/Jon Jerry(R)/Seth Olsen
    C- Weigman/Erik Cook(R)

    NT- Fields/Cam Thomas(R)
    RDE- Holliday/Jared ODrick(R)/Pedelesceaux
    LDE- Chris Baker/Marcus Thomas
    DE/OLB- Dumervil/Ayers/Haggan/Reid
    ILB- Williams/Davis/Woodyard/Larsen/Imperrio(R)
    SS- Dawkins/Rolle(R)/Bruton
    FS- Hill/Mcbath
    CB- Champ/Goodman/Hood/Smith/Carter

enjoy it folks...im sure the criticism will flow......

really like it, love Rolle, im really surprised hes projected around the 3rd round by most, i mean just 1 year ago he was a first round pick so hell if we can get him in the 3rd id be ecstatic

i like crompton and was gonna make a thread about what people think about him. being at UT ive seen him go from being awful to great back down to below avg. hes very inconsistent but i also dont think he had very good coaching while he was here. but as us vols like to say he was inCROMPetant against top competition. i like his physical skills but i worry about the mental aspect of the game

I like it except Crompton in the 4th.

I like the acquisitions of Williams and Jerry at Guard.

Rolle and McBath as a safety tandem for the future would be pretty sick imo.

Beefing up the DL with the first 2 picks is never a bad idea.

yeah love rolle and he is exactly the type of player MCd will love should be easy to snag him rd 3....

as for crompton he has a legit NFL skill set to do well, and i belive its the coaching thats failed him, i have no worries at taking shot becasue MCd does do well with Qb's.....i belive in a year or 2 we would see the crompton that we know is there, plus in rd 4 its not a bad shot...he has the tools be to be very good and coaching should fix the mental part for him and help build his confidence....

as for crompton i have been torn, but i basically said screw it and took the shot. i belive MCd could make him into a wonder kid.....he has ths skills and physical traits as well as mechincs and footwork, he just doesnt have confidence or the mental game down which is why he is so inconsistent, MCd is exactly the type of coach who could do wonders for cropmton.....

I would rather take Williams at 11(if he is there) and then Carrington in second. I just feel the value is better for each position. I'm not high on Cam Thomas or Troupe. But I do like the other picks...especially Brandon James and Myron Rolle. Renaldo Hill needs to go...

agree, worth the risk of a fourth rounder IMO, im expecting nothing out of simms or brandstater and hope we bring in an even semi legit backup QB at some point this offseason.

Very good mock, especially if we can trade down. Strengthens our O and D-lines nicely.

well i belive in MUGS theory that williams could go as high as 5 to KC i also belive Miami will try a trade ahead of us thinking we want williams becasue they really need him, so for me williams wont be a option plus he isnt a elite player like odrick in my opinion, i belive odrick can have impact day signifigantly at 5 technique where as williams would take some time.....but to each his own....

also Carrington reminds me of jaron gilbert who flew up the boards with off-season stuff, and did little in year 1.....if i was draftinga 5 tech in rd 2 im going wooton, Alulau, or jones before carrington.....

                  as for the others thanks

well i think brandy could take the back-up reigns and do well and i belive simms wont be here at all.....from what i can tell he is just done period......so crompton would be what brandy was this year, but i also wouldnt mind a legit back-up we saw what happened when orton went down....yikes!!!!!

Oh I really like Odrick too, and its not that one I'm questioning...its taking Thomas in second. The only reason he is moving up boards is because the lack of NT's in the draft. But like you said, to each his own.

I see Crompton the only legit QB pick outside Clausen, due to how well he took to NFL coaching his senior year. and as elevation mentions Crompton has all the measurements and can make all the throws. He just needs refinement and coaching.

Good mock, offseason other then Crompton. Dont like the Cam Thomas pick either NT wasnt the problem, DE was. I dont think QB is that big of a need, if we take a QB, i'd like Skelton. I think we should give Brandstater a chance to see what he's got. Dont mind Rolle, but we just drafted McBath and Bruton, and have Barrett too. I'd be surprised if we took a safety, even though it's a loaded safety draft.

yeah odrick is richard seymour good im my mind, a for thomas he is there much like brace was last year, but we need the NT depth since i dont belive there is a valid FA and marcus thoams and baker dont belong at NT in my eyes.....so its worth the risk to develop him in my eyes...he is a tad raw and rising because of lack yes, but he does have the skill set to be succesful.....i would prefer to nab him rd 3 but i just dont see that happening....and in my eyes....are DL and Guard should be are main priorties for a change....lol

Cross me off the Odrick bandwagon. Penn St DLineman dont do it for me.

I do feel that Denver will more than likely have to trade down. Especially if they win the coin toss from JAX. Derrick Morgan has a huge possibility to still be on the board at 10 and there are quite a few teams that would like a shot at him, in front of Jacksonville.
