Patriots Unreistricted Free Agents for 2010

    Vince Wilfork NT
    Lee Bodden CB
    Jarvis Green DE
    Derrick Burgess DE/OLB
    Ben Watson TE
    Kevin Faulk FB
    Stephen Neil OG

Thought this was interesting. The Patriots have a whopping seven starters hitting free agency. So even if they are able to tag Vince Wilfork with the Franchise Tag and then use their remaining two transition tags on two players, four players will still be going someplace else. Who will come to Denver?

A lot of teams don't have a single unrestricted free agent starter this year; the Patriots have seven.

Those two are the most UN-HOMER picks...

      But I'll take Wilfork...

They should keep Wilfork, Bodden, and Niel...

But they will probably keep Wilfork, Faulk, and Niel.

          Transition tags do nothing.

They only mean that the tagged player can't leave to play for another team for less money.

If they transition tag Neil and we offer him a 4 year $18 million contract, the Pats will have an oppurtunity to outbid us before Neil signs with us. If the Pats aren't willing to effer more than $4.5 million a year then we get Neil.

I'm pretty sure they're gonna do whatever they have to, to keep Wilfork.
So that leaves (in my mind) Bodden, Neal, Green, and Faulk as guys we could target.

Didn't NE trade down for multiple picks last season? Not sure if some of those picks come this year or not. I just recall some people being somewhat surprised at the stockpiling of picks.
The beatings will continue until morale improves....

They have no 3rd or 5th this year, but they have three 2nds and two 7th. They also have the raiders 2011 1st.

Wilfork would be great but I think they will keep him.

Green would be a good pick-up.

Neil has too much tread on his tyres

Leigh Bodden would be very good to add depth at CB. But I guess the Patriots will make an effort to bring him back. Also, keep an eye on guys like OC Marvin Philip being released by the Bills, we need bodies for OTAs/training camp and Studesville has good info about these players.

Good point about the Bills but Bodden will only go somewhere he will start and for good money as well

He would be a great addition to this team but their gonna keep him. I herd just the other day on sports center hes only gonna cost about 6 mil to bring back, even though he wants a long contract they will probably lock him out. Its not often you find someone that big but has such great footwork.

                          Wilfork will be tagged.
                          Neal is too old.
I hope we get Green, would be a great addition to the DL.
