  • Matt Cassel

Somebody did a mock or mentioned something about trading Marshall for a 1st and 3rd, then we could trade our 1st,2nd, and 3rd to St. Louis for the 1st overall pick, and with that pick, the Broncos draft Suh. So i replied and said that since Weis is with K.C., they will draft Clausen and trade Matt Cassel to Denver for a 2nd rd pick. Weis gets his QB from N.D. and McD gets his QB from N.E. Now i go to ESPN website and go to the AFC West, just to find out that Bill Williamson mentioned it. It probably won't happen, but i wouldn't be suprised.

The Kansas City Star and ESPN’s Mel Kiper both wonder if there is any way the Chiefs would reunite new offensive coordinator Charlie Weis with his quarterback at Notre Dame, Jimmy Clausen. The Chiefs have the No. 5 pick and Clausen is expected to be selected high in the draft.

Kiper also wondered if Kansas City would trade Matt Cassel to Denver -- Broncos coach Josh McDaniels loves Cassel.

This scenario is obviously juicy and fun, although also unlikely. But we’ve seen wild scenarios involving quarterbacks in the AFC West before, haven’t we?

I can tell you this would cause unneeded drama and would be ridiculous especially when Cassel signed a big contract with the Chiefs.

        Interesting...
I doubt it happens because of the crazy deal KC signed him to (he makes about 10 mil a year). But you never know, crazier things have happened...

If it happened It would a great idea, he led a new england team to 11 wins and he knows the system. I would take him in a heart beat for a 2nd. I believe besides the fact that he was hurt almost all year and learning a new system, people are kinda down on him. I for sure will start my Cassell In Denver Campaign!! :salute!:

We are not the NE patriots and we still don't have as much talent as them.

Are you kidding me? McD is running and trying to teach the offense to all new players. Denver is very close talent wise. What they lack is time in the offense and a couple of debatable players. Cassell will be a huge part of what McD is trying to do in Denver. Mark my words if Denver some can somehow land Cassell, DENVER WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!

Trades within the division are nonexistant, especially when you are talking about starting QB's. Look at all of the trouble the Packers went through when they traded Favre to the Jets. They put a clause in the trade that said if the Jets traded Favre to the Vikings, they would forfeit their next 3 #1 picks to the Packers.

I don't like Matt Cassel and I think even Brodie Croyle played better than him. I can't understand how McDaniels even listened to any offer involving Cassel when he had Cutler on the roster.
