DJ has been a liability in coverage. Fact.
He's one of my favorite players but GTFO if you're gonna call me out for not being a blind homer.
I would prefer him to remain a Bronco and get a chance to improve but I would understand the trade proposal.

Very stupid that some people think DJ Williams isn't good. He has been one of our most consistent defensive players for the last 6 years. Liability my ass.

He's also had like 4 defensive coordinators in his 6 year career, and hasn't been able to stay at one position longer than 1 season because of the consistent changes. He's one of the premiere, underrated linebackers in the entire freakin NFL!!!

Get out of here with that crap.

Get's me pissed off when I read pure ignorance in some posts.

Sorry to upset you. I hope we can continue the discussion without you getting more upset but I think there are key items you seem to be ignoring. I have to point out that several others have identified weaknesses in DJ's game.... Specifically the facts that he
      • is not good in coverage
      • can't get off blocks
      • has poor instincts
      • takes bad angles
      • doesn't make big plays

I haven't seen much justification for your point that he is one of the most underated LBs in the entire NFL.... Sounds to me like you are making excuses for underachievement. It is easy to come up with excuses as to why he is not elite. I think it is much tougher to show evidence that he is elite.

Our D has been very bad for quite some time. The last time we could really stop the run was with Al Wilson in the middle. Part of the reason we change coordinators so much is because the D has been so bad. IF DJ was truly an elite MLB we would not be moving him around to different positions and we would not have the change in coordinators that we have had.

For whatever reason DJs tremendous physical abilities have NEVER equated to improvements in our D. He is not a difference maker. He has made alot of tackles but that has not helped our D become any good. I would prefer that the tackles not have to be made 5 yards downfield. On a bad D someone is going to make the tackles.

I do agree with you that it is not our biggest weakness and I would prefer that we upgrade other positions first. But I believe it is tough to justify DJ as a premiere MLB.

But John Madden said he is the only High School Player he has ever seen that is NFL ready after graduating...no I'm just kidding, I'm kinda over the DJ experiment as well. Don't mind paying him 3 million this next year, but we need to start looking into a replacement.
