  • Mock draft porjecting Denver to draft Texas QB McCoy in 3rd round

I think the Walter football sports did this mock draft. I 've been trying to keep track of the infinite mock drafts on the internet projecting the different players Denver might draft. One I just saw has Denver getting Dez Bryant in the 1st since they believe Marshall will be dealt this offseason. The projected pick that caught my eye was Denver's pick in the 3rd round. It had Colt McCoy going to Denver. The pick itself didn't scare me. It was the editorial about the reasoning McDaniels would use in selecting Colt. It stated that McDaniels isn't the best drafter of talent and that Colt sadly has all the tools that would make McDaniels want to draft him. After the BCS championship game. One trait Colt has that should worry anybody is getting hit around the throwing shoulder and his arm going dead. Does anybody think there's a chance that this would happen?

How do anybody even know that? He has had one draft in a shortened offseason, are they basing everything off his one draft?

His first draft was simply horrible... None of the players of the last draft had an impact on the team (except for Moreno but he didn't play really good). PLUS, he traded our first roud pick this year who I believe would have been number 14 for..... Alphonso Smith

I REALLY hope we will have a better draft this year, but with McDaniels you never know what will happen

Our overall #14 pick got beat out by a 37-year-old corner and a guy from the practice squad. Seriously thats just sad.

Yes the Smith trade was dumb, everybody knows that, hopefully he will improve and make him worth it. So, if our draft was so horrible which team in the NFL had a considerably better draft than the Broncos, which teams entire draft would you swap with ours. Which team had more players that received more playing time than our draft picks? I'm not talking about one pick, I'm talking about the entire draft, because that is what you're criticizing.

Off the top of my head?

The Vikings with Loadholt, Harvin, and the LB whose name I can't remember

The Steelers and all their WRs

The Redskins with Orakpo who was a beast who we could have taken

The Jets with Sanchez who took them to the AFCCG and Shonn Greene

                    The Texans Cushing won DROY

The Eagles with LeSean McCoy and others

And the Bengals with Andre Smith, Mauluaga, Michael Johnson.

Ayers has shown great potential, he could be a stud OLB, Richard Quin will be a good player in our system due to the need for blocking TE's, Phonz still has a long way to go, admittedly and Moreno has played well through injury and a rotation with Bucky.

Not to mention that McBath and Bruton have both been very good ST players and have shown promise in limited time on the field this year and could sure up the future of the position for multiple years to come.

i still dont know why we didnt take clay matthews instead of ayers

                        matthews was a true OLB

Im not for drafting a QB in the early rounds,it makes no sense to me.The Raiders and KC creamed us at the end of the season and it wasnt Klye Ortons fault.I would draft a OL or DL,maybe even a RB.It takes to long to develop these guys and we need to at least make the playoffs.I would make a trade for a proven QB,or develop Brandstater.

I would be pretty happy if we picked him the 3rd, though I'm guessing he won't be there by then...and I don't know what I think about drafting him in the 2nd.

The Vikings had a good draft, but it will take a few years to know for sure. I'm sure at this point any team in the NFL would swap with them.

The Steelers and all their WRs
The Steelers drafted one WR, Mike Wallace, at the time WR was about the Broncos last need. The rest of their draft, hmmm:
                              1 32 Evander Hood
                              3 79 Kraig Urbik
                              3 96 Keenan Lewis
                              5 168 Joe Burnett
                              5 169 Frank Summers
                              6 205 RaShon Harris
                              7 226 A.Q. Shipley
                              7 241 David Johnson

The Redskins with Orakpo who was a beast who we could have taken
The Redskins have a good D-line, that's a linebackers best friend, would Orakpo be the same with with our D-line, maybe or maybe not. The rest of their draft combined played less than Orakpo by himself, not a great draft outside one player.

The Jets with Sanchez who took them to the AFCCG and Shonn Greene
Moreno had more rushing yards and TDs than Greene. C'mon, yeah sure, Sanchez was the reason they went to the AFCCG...

                              The Texans Cushing won DROY
And the rest of their draft:
                              2 46 Connor Barwin
                              3 77 Antoine Caldwell
                              4 112 Glover Quin
                              4 122 Anthony Hill
                              5 152 James Casey
                              6 188 Brice McCain
                              7 223 Troy Nolan

Wow, we could have had the great Troy Nolan! (sarcasm)

The Eagles with LeSean McCoy and others
                              Hmmm, and others, convincing.

And the Bengals with Andre Smith, Mauluaga, Michael Johnson.
Andre Smith started one game and was pretty much hurt all year, Mauluaga and Johnson look good though. The rest of their (they had 11 picks) draft though ...
