The Denver Broncos have expressed some interest in Tennessee Titans Pro Bowl center Kevin Mawae, a league source said Monday.

The Broncos lost center Casey Wiegmann to the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, and though the team is looking to get younger at that position, Mawae is a possibility, and there has been contact between the sides. Mawae is an unrestricted free agent.

Mawae has the option of returning to the Titans as well, in what would likely be a depth role. Despite his age, he made it through 2009 injury free and was voted to another Pro Bowl, but the interest in him has been limited.
And there we sit with no center. Hmmmmm, seems like a match made in heaven as long as we can agree on money.

Great logic but C captains the line you need a smart one who has the count down and can be a leader. Rookie centers are generally a toss up as starters but we can train them to become the player we need NT is slightly similar you rarely have players you can immediately plug in. Plus backups for the geezers is always a good call

If we can add a player with his attitude coupled with his winning pedigree, we will be just fine...

We can then not worry about a second round center THIS YEAR...We then have... FA, next year, and the draft next year, along with...WHO KNOWS if we are playing football after this season.

We go skilled at 11...skilled in the second and third, and cross the Center bridge when we come to it... Theres alot of time before this year and next year to get a center...We are so predictable...Everyone knows we need D-Line and O-line help...

So what does Josh do, goes out and gets a ton of D-line help...And If we bring in Kevin That gets our O-line the help it needs FOR this SEASON...

We can then be UNPREDICTABLE come draft time, and may even be able to trade...Becouse teams wont know OUR NEED!!!!!

Klis: Mawae to denver AINT happening.

        No Mawae in Denver
        By Mike Klis

There are various reports stating the Broncos, who desperately need a center, and veteran free-agent center Kevin Mawae have expressed mutual interest in each other.

While there are various ways to characterize “interest” an NFL source told me Maewae ain’t happening in Denver. Mawae, the president of the NFL players union, is not only 39 years old, his 289-pound frame is too light for the Broncos’ new power-type blocking system. Remember, the Broncos released Casey Wiegmann, who hasn’t missed a snap since the 2001 opener, because he was considered too small at 285 pounds.
Remember: If you dont feed the trolls - they will go away! Neither logic nor a compelling argument will make a difference.

Was just about to post that.. Thats good, i'd rather get younger, 39 a little long in the tooth and i'd rather get Walton or Pouncey, yeah i said it.

If you guys were complaining about Wiegmann in our system you would be wanting to kill yourself watching Mawae in a power blocking system... No thanks.

The best center prospect in the draft is Florida’s Maurkice Pouncey, who is expected to be selected in the first round.

Agreed, he's same weight as Wiegs, and he's 39. This may be a litte homerish, but i'd rather get younger and have Pouncey or Walton.
