gaffney is the slot guy, royal is the number 2 thats why gaffney didnt catch alot of passes until royal was hurt and marshall was benched
A healthy Kenneth Dixon is a top 5 NFL RB.

If i'm not mistaken, prior to the KC game, Gaffney had 40 receptions and Royal had 36 receptions. I understand what you're saying, and i agree as far as people wanting Royal to be in the slot vs McD putting Royal as the #2. I don't think you can put to much into the depth chart last year, because Gaffney knows the offense and there is no reason why he shouldn't have been the #2. I believe McD didn't want to change to much so he left it as is, but think about it. Marshall don't know the offense, Royal don't know the offense, Gaffney, who knows the offense was the slot. That didn't make sense to me. This year depth chart can be different from last years, but what everybody need to remember is when Josh was in NE, before Gaffney and Moss, the average height for the recievers was about 5'11, which is Royals height. So we can't look at him and say he is to short to be the #2.

He is actually 5-10 sorry to be picky however i think someone like mardy Gillard in the second would be a true number 2 wide reciever. Then royal could play in the slot and gaffney, stokley, llyod and Mckinley as roatational players. Cause when you look at it before week 15 when royal was injured and week 17 when marshall and sheffler didnt player he had only 33 receptions. In week 16 and week 17 he had 21 receptions and 2 touchdowns. Before this 33 receptions and 0 touchdowns.

Your right he is 5'10. McD really loves Gaffney and don't be surprised if he is the #1 or #2 reciever (If we lose Marshall) BB and McD loved Gaffney because he is smart and he can play all the reciever positions. To put him as in a rotation with the 4th and 5th reciever is unfair, IMO.

I dont want Shipley, hes 25 or 26 if im not mistaken, kind of old for a rookie. We already have a slot WR soon to be in Royal, Gaffney is a solid #2, and BMarsh. I'd like Danario Alexander..

In the first 14 games, Royal and Gaffney averaged 5 catches a game combined and neither scored a TD. I would imagine McDaniels intends to see that production increased one way or another and I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 new starters there.

I don't think that you can put to much stock on what our recievers did last year. With everything being new(Coach, QB, Offense) i like to compare last season to a new "Expansion" team. McD knows Gaffney, he brought him in from NE. Based off of Royal's rookie season, McD knows the "Potential" Royal has. Now that McD has completed a season with them, he should have a better idea on who can do what. I'm expecting both Gaffney and Royal to have a very good season.

What's incomplete is your reading comprehension. It says I wouldn't be surprised to see it.

I think Shipley will turn out to be a great playmaker for the team that drafts him. I would love him in the 3rd but im also a fan of Eddie who i think could be our slot receiver. Although he is more tan Capable of being the number 2 receiver which I'm sure will see him always being involved in the offence if we do draft Shipley.
